Ranked Season 18 Regulation Changes

No Limit on EX Pokemon Usage

Teams can now have multiple EX Pokemon in a team for the current ranked season (Season 18)! Use this opportunity to climb up the ladder with EX Pokemon that you already own!

One EX Pokemon Per Team is Suspended from Ranked Season 18

The old rule that only one EX Pokemon is allowed per team in ranked battles is currently suspended for Ranked Season 18. We are unsure if this rule will return in future ranked seasons but this rule is replaced by the one above as of writing.

EX Pokemon Meaning: List and Rules

Shiny Rayquaza Arrives in Theia Sky Ruins

Starting from February 22, 2024 to March 12, 2024, Shiny Rayquaza will be appearing in Theia Sky Ruins instead of the regular-colored Rayquaza.

Note:
Shiny Rayquaza is the same as the regular Rayquaza and does not give any new effects when defeated.

Draft Mode Coming to Ranked Battles

Starting this season, draft mode will be implemented for players who are ranked in Masters 1400+.

Starting February 27th, the format of the draft mode ban voting phase will change. Each team will now have two banned Pokemon instead of just one, making it a total of four banned Pokemon in a single match.

Additionally, the 4th and 5th players on each team will take turns choosing which Pokemon to ban.

Other players can request bans, so consider the opinions of your team members and strategically choose which Pokemon to ban.
