Mega Mewtwo Y can't be in the same team as Mega Mewtwo X. If a player in one team already picked one of the Mewtwo, the other Mewtwo can no longer be selected.

Build Explanation |
---|
This build is centered on shoving targets away from Mewtwo with Future Sight and blasting them with attacks to maximize the move's additional damage effect. Recover allows Mewtwo to convert its attack damage into HP, healing the Pokemon and prolonging its life during fights. |
· Muscle Band improves Mega Mewtwo Y's attacks through increased damage and attack speed. It also helps the Pokemon to fill up its Mega gauge faster. · Slick Spoon gives Mega Mewtwo Y a decent amount of Sp. Atk. and the ability to ignore a portion of its target's Sp. Def., improving its attack damage further, particularly when Mega evolved. · Rapid-Fire Scarf provides Mega Mewtwo Y with a massive attack speed buff from time to time, allowing it to unleash more attacks during Future Sight. · However, Scope Lens can be a replacement for Slick Spoon, increasing Mega Mewtwo Y's critical-hit rate and damage. · X Attack gives Mega Mewtwo Y more damage and attack speed to work with. · The build's Boost Emblem loadout should consist of 7 Black Emblems for some move cooldown reduction and 6 Green Emblem to maximize its damage. · Equip Emblems that improve Sp. Atk. or Critical-Hit Rate to further improve Mega Mewtwo Y's attacks. · Attack, Sp. Def., and Defense can be freely traded for the other stats. |

Since the build focuses more on attacks, equipping items that will maximize Mega Mewtwo Y's attack damage is the ideal item combination.
Out of all the item combinations, Muscle Band, Scope Lens, and Rapid-Fire Scarf will work best for the build. Although the item combination produced the lowest results, the massive attack speed buff from Rapid-Fire Scarf will translate into more damage in the long run.
As for alternatives, replacing Rapid-Fire Scarf with Wise Glasses or Slick Spoon would be the ideal choice. The item combination with Wise Glasses generated the second best results that is only slightly lower than the top. On the other hand, equipping Slick Spoon grants Mega Mewtwo Y both Sp. Atk. and HP for a more balanced build.
Note: The numbers in bold are the highest result for a specific test. |

Build Explanation |
---|
This build utilizes the distance-based damage from Psystrike to knock out targets and using Teleport to maneuver around and increase its damage further. Mega Mewtwo Y will rely mostly on Psystrike as its primary damage source. |
· Wise Glasses provides Mega Mewtwo Y a large Sp. Atk. stat boost thanks to its percentage bonus, which also goes well with the Pokemon's ability to increase its Sp. Atk. via Pressure · Choice Specs gives Mega Mewtwo Y more Sp. Atk. stat and increases its minimum move damage, particularly for Psystrike. · Slick Spoon further adds more Sp. Atk. stat and grants Mega Mewtwo Y Sp. Def. penetration for its moves. It also gives a decent amount of HP for some durability. · Eject Button gives Mega Mewtwo Y extra mobility on top of Teleport, allowing it to make more creative plays when setting up Psystrike. · The build's Boost Emblem loadout should consist of 7 Black Emblems for some move cooldown reduction and 6 Green Emblem to maximize its damage. · Equip Emblems that improve Sp. Atk. to further improve Mega Mewtwo Y's move damage, particularly for Psystrike. · Attack, Sp. Def., and Defense can be freely traded for the other stats. |

Since the build is centered mainly around Psystrike, equipping items that will maximize its damage is the ideal item combination.
As the results show, Wise Glasses, Choice Specs, and Slick Spoon will produce the best results for the build. The item combination generated the top score for the tests and doesn't require Mewtwo to stack an item.

Move | Explanation |

Future Sight allows Mega Mewtwo Y to fend off opponents that try to get close to the Pokemon. The target is also slowed and takes increased damage. |
![]() |
Recover gives Mega Mewtwo Y shielding, mobility, cooldown reduction, and HP recovery in one simple move. |
This moveset harnesses Mega Mewtwo Y's dangerous ranged attacks when it's Mega evolved. Since the Pokemon needs to always keep its distance from enemies, Future Sight's slow and pushback mechanic makes it the perfect tool to keep them at bay. It also increases the damage taken by the target, especially from Mega Mewtwo Y's attacks. Recover increases the Pokemon's survivability during fights by giving it a shield, increased movement speed, and the ability to heal itself with its basic attacks. It also reduces its move cooldowns when the shield disappears.
Future Sight and Psystrike are Mega Mewtwo Y's primary damage moves. Choosing one changes the Pokemon's gameplay to some degree.
When going for Future Sight, Mega Mewtwo Y will mostly rely on its attacks as its primary source of damage, since the move itself deals little damage and will only deal significant damage if the Pokemon bombards the target with attacks after using the move. Choosing this move essentially turns Mega Mewtwo Y into an attack-damage damage dealer.
As for Psystrike, Mega Mewtwo Y will have a traditional Sp. Atk. Attacker gameplay, relying mostly on moves to take out opponents. Although the move does significantly more damage compared to Future Sight, it does require some setup to maximize its effeciency since it does more damage the farther away Mega Mewtwo Y is from the target.
On the other hand, Teleport and Recover are Mega Mewtwo Y's complimentary moves. They offer the Pokemon some utility to enhance its other moveset and helps in filling up its Mega gauge faster.
Choosing Teleport gives Mega Mewtwo Y a simple mobility tool but also increases its damage output for a short duration. Meanwhile, Recover is purely a utility tool, shielding and healing the Pokemon while also increasing its movement speed and reducing the Pokemon's move cooldowns. Selecting a move to pair with Future Sight or Psystrike is ultimately up to player preference due both moveset having incredible synergy with each other.

Similarly to Mewtwo X, Mewtwo Y's passive ability is also called Pressure. Upon reaching level 5, Mewtwo Y needs to fill up the Mega Gauge in order to Mega-Evolve into Mega Mewtwo Y. Use Standard Attacks in order to fill it up, farm wild Pokemon along your chosen lane, secure the Altaria and Swablu spawns, and help in pushing lanes during early game to utilize Mewtwo's passive ability.
Pressure: Mega Mewtwo Y Passive Effect and Cooldown
Mewtwo Y also benefits from AoE Standard Attacks as an Sp. Attacker, and its Standard Attacks being able to hit enemies within the mon's range. As Mega Mewtwo Y, it gains a movement speed buff and its Sp. Attacks come out faster and hit harder**, so it's best to gather targets in one place.
Confusion stuns an enemy that gets hit. Use this move to stun wild Pokemon along the lane, and burst them down with Standard Attacks.
Confusion: Mega Mewtwo Y Move Effect and Cooldown
Learn Barrier first to gain a shield and increase Mewtwo's movement speed. Take advantage of the shield and movement speed increase by trying to score and pushing lanes during early game. Partner up with allies that are farming wild Pokemon near the top or bottom lane, assist in teamfights and score goals to get ahead in points and level up faster.
Barrier is also effective against Pokemon like Dodrio or Absol since these mons also like to dive in during teamfights. Utilize this move by using it first to lessen the damage taken, then use Confusion to stun an enemy and spam Standard Attacks and fill up the Pressure Gauge.
Once Mewtwo mega-evolves into Mega Mewtwo Y, focus on leveling up to secure its upgraded moves quickly then secure objectives at the bottom or top lane if they spawned.
Barrier: Mega Mewtwo Y Move Effect and Cooldown
Mewtwo gets even stronger upon reaching level 5, so choose your preferred move depending on what best suits your playstyle.
Use Future Sight to isolate easily overwhelmed Pokemon or squishy targets. Learn Psystrike otherwise if you wish for Mewtwo Y to keep dishing out damage even from afar.
Mewtwo Y's Future Sight locks on a target then shoves it away as an extra hindrance effect. This move also decreases the target's movement speed and makes it take increased damage after a set amount of time. Use this move on an isolated enemy or when chasing down a target, especially if they're squishy Pokemon or low on health.
Future Sight: Mega Mewtwo Y Move Effect and Cooldown
Psystrike lets Mewtwo summon psychic waves towards its enemies and slow them down. This move is useful in slowing down enemies that it hits and the farther Mewtwo Y is from its target, the more damage it deals. Utilize this move by pairing up with bursty allies and assist in pushing lanes, or when securing objectives.
Psystrike: Mega Mewtwo Y Move Effect and Cooldown
Upon reaching level 7, Mewtwo is now ready to face enemies head on due to the support moves it can learn, but still requires the aid of its allies in pushing lanes.
Learning Recover allows Mewtwo Y to heal itself and stay in teamfights longer than other All-Rounders in the roster. Teleport is a dash move and is basically works like Eject Button, and lets Mewtwo traverse to a designated area in a flash.
Recover works the same way with Mewtwo Y. It recovers the user's health and provides shields along with cooldown reduction for all of the mon's moves.
However, it's still advisable to have a Supporter ally Pokemon nearby since Mewtwo Y is a Special Attacker and squishier than Mewtwo X in general.
Recover: Mega Mewtwo Y Move Effect and Cooldown
Teleport allows Mewtwo to traverse to a designated area in a flash when used. This dash move is best used when Mewtwo needs to reposition itself, or is chasing down an enemy. It also enhances Mewtwo's movement speed when used, so take advantage of this by partnering it with Mewtwo's mega evolved Standard Attacks and overwhelm a crowd of enemies around you.
Teleport: Mega Mewtwo Y Move Effect and Cooldown
Infinite Psyburn is Mega Mewtwo Y's UNITE Move that can hit every enemy Pokemon nearby. This move stuns enemies that get hit by the Psychic blast and decreases their Sp. Defense, so save this UNITE Move for Rayquaza spawns, secure the objective, and score as much as you can until the timer ends.
Infinite Psyburn: Mega Mewtwo Y Move Effect and Cooldown
Level | Objectives |
---|---|
1 - 5 | • Farm exp. and secure as many wild Pokemon as you can to level up quickly. • If you're at the bottom lane, prioritize targeting Indeedees for more exp. • Learn Confusion as your first damaging ability, then farm the Bunnelbies along the lane until you get to level 3, then learn Barrier. • If enemies are aggressively pushing early game, assist allies in defending your lane and try to score as much as you can. • Upon reaching level 5, learn either Future Sight or Psystrike as your Sure Hit and Hindrance move, then assist allies by utilizing Mewtwo Y's Sp. Attacks. |
6 - 9 | • Upon reaching level 7, learn Teleport or Recover as your support move and secure enemy jungle camps while there's nothing much going on. • Pull off combos by partnering Future Sight or Psystrike with Teleport or Recover to stay in fights longer and help allies fight enemy Pokemon. • Gain exp. from defeating enemy Pokemon, Altaria and Swablus. • Help allies secure Regice, Registeel, or Regirock when it appears at the bottom lane, otherwise secure Regieleki when the objective spawns at the top lane. |
10+ | • Stick with your allies to hunt down isolated targets, secure objectives, and push lanes. • Reach level 13 before or when Rayquaza spawns for a fully-upgraded moveset • Make sure to have Infinite Psyburn available when Rayquaza spawns. • Help your allies win a teamfight and secure Rayquaza. |
Level | Objectives |
---|---|
1 - 5 | • Learn Confusion first and secure Xatu quickly then learn Barrier upon reaching level 3. • Take the orange buff only if no one else is farming in the area. • Clear the first wave of jungle camps and reach level 5 and learn Future Sight or Psystrike. • Help the top lane first by securing Altaria and Swablus and scoring points. |
6 - 9 | • Clear the second wave of jungle camps and reach at least level 7 to learn Recover or Teleport. • Help the bottom lane by securing Altaria and Swablus, getting kills, and scoring points. • If possible, reach level 9 to learn Mewtwo Y's Unite Move, Infinite Psyburn before or when Regice, Registeel, or Regirock spawns. • Help your allies secure Regice, Registeel, or Regirock at the bottom lane, with Registeel being the highest priority since it gives a damage buff to the party. |
10+ | • Stick with your team to secure objective and push lanes. • Reach at least level 13 or max level if possible before Rayquaza spawns for a fully-upgraded moveset. • Make sure that Infinite Psyburn is available when Rayquaza spawns and help your team win the teamfight. |
These combos are some ways to set up Future Sight and Psystrike.

Start the combo by using Teleport to relocate to a desired position, then immediately follow up with Future Sight. While the target is locked on, attack it continuously until Future Sight's effect ends. Teleport's second activation can be used to chase the target or get into a safer position, depending on the situation. This combo can be used to quickly fill up the Mega gauge, or used while Mega evolved for a devasting damage. Infinite Psyburn can also be used immediately after Future Sight to keep the target stunned. |
Psychic Downpour Combo | |
---|---|
Initiate the combo by getting close to a target using Teleport, then immediately following up with Psystrike. While the target is knocked up after Psystrike ends, use Infinite Psyburn to stun the target. Follow up with attacks until the target is knocked out. The combo is most effective when Psystrike knocks up multiple enemies, ensuring that Infinite Psyburn also hits them. |

![]() When the Pokemon deals damage to an opposing Pokemon with a basic attack, the Mega gauge increases. The more the Mega gauge increases, the more the Pokemon's Sp. Atk. and basic attack speed increase. If the Mega gauge becomes full when the Pokemon is Lv. 5 or higher, the Pokemon Mega Evolves for a set amount of time. When the Pokemon Mega Evolves, its Sp.
