Psystrike Effect

Has the user direct psychic waves at the designated opposing Pokemon, dealing damage to it and decreasing its movement speed. At the end of the move, the user hits the designated opposing Pokemon and nearby opposing Pokemon with a strong psychic wave, throwing and dealing damage to all opposing Pokemon it hits. The farther the user is from the designated opposing Pokemon, the more damage this move deals.

How to Use Psystrike

Use Eject Button or Teleport as a Setup

Use Eject Button or Teleport to setup Psystrike. The move's cast range forces Mewtwo Y to get close to targets first, which could put the Pokemon in a dangerous position. Having means to quickly get close to the target allows Mewtwo Y to use Psystrike without giving them time to react.

Move Away from the Target While Firing

Since Psystrike's damage increases the farther away the target is from Mewtwo Y, moving away from the target while firing the move maximizes its damage output. However, it's important to take note that the increased damage caps at a certain distance, so Mewtwo Y doesn't need to be extremely far from the target to deal maximum damage.

Use Battle Items or a Move While Firing

Mewtwo Y can also use battle items or a move while firing Psystrike. In particular, using Eject Button or Teleport while firing Psystrike is a great way to quickly move away from the target and maximize its damage.

Utilize the Knockup Effect

When Psystrike's final wave hits the target, it and nearby opponents gets knocked up for a short time. Utilize this effect to set up knockouts for the team.

Utilize the Unstoppable Status Effect

Mewtwo Y gains the Unstoppable status effect while firing Psystrike. Utilize this effect to soak a few disables from opponents during teamfights.
