As of the conclusion of the Regional Finals, the four teams that will represent North America in the World Championships in Japan are Amaterasu, TTV, Luminosity, and Team YT.
Picking Urshifu and playing it as a jungler is the most common startegy teams use. This is due to the Pokemon's early-game powerspike, where it only has to reach level 5 to start making an impact in the game. By putting the Pokemon in the jungle, it can quickly reach this timing just by clearing the first wave of jungle camps.
Urshifu garnered a pick rate of 41% with a 36.8% win rate. It's the most picked Pokemon in the tournament.
Moreover, teams tend to go for the Pokemon's Single Strike Style rather than its Rapid Strike Style as part of the strategy due to that style's secure potential via Wicked Blow.
Urshifu Guide: Best Builds and Moveset
Lapras was a common meta pick in the tournament, particularly as a Defender. It accumulated a pick rate of 39% with a 50% win rate, making it the most successful pick. The Pokemon's durability, crowd control moves, and scaling makes it a great frontliner.
Lapras Guide: Builds and Best Items
Hoopa was also at the forefront of the meta in the Regional Finals, garnering a pick rate of 34% with a 31.6% win rate. The Pokemon's unique ability to create portals gives its team superior map mobility and objective-taking potential.
Hoopa Guide: Builds and Best Items
Attackers played a crucial part in the outcome of games, providing the most firepower for the team. There were at least two (2) Attackers per game throughout the tournament with the exception of a few games.

Game8 Notes | Focus Band is the most picked Held Item in the tournament, showing how teams value durability and survivability, particularly during teamfights. Slick Spoon comes in second, which is actually a counter to Focus Band. The item's high pick rate is most likely due to a high pick rate of Sp. Atk. Pokemon. |
