Cast Ahead of Target

Since there is a slight delay after casting Thunderbolt, try to anticipate where a target is heading and cast it just ahead of them. This method is most effective when chasing a fleeing enemy or escaping from them.

Set Up Thunder

Pokemon UNITE - Pikachu Using Thunderbolt and Thunder on Venusaur

If you picked Thunder and Thunderbolt as your moveset, use Thunderbolt first to set up Thunder, maximizing your damge output.

Set Up for Allies

Alternatively, if you have allies that can follow up your initiation with their own moves, use it to set up kills for them.

Thunderbolt Patch History

1.12.1.2 Cooldown reduced from 8 to 7.5 seconds.
1.15.1.2 Cooldown decreased from 7.5s to 7s.
