Increases the user's movement speed for a short time and changes the user's next basic attack. When the user performs its next basic attack, it lunges at one opposing Pokémon in range and delivers repeated blows, dealing damage to that Pokémon and leaving it unable to act for a short time.
Play Rough lasts for 4 seconds after activation.
Play Rough is best for targetting Pokemon with low health! Stop low health enemy Pokemon from escaping by using Play Rough to catch up.
Pokemon under the Unstoppable status effect cannot be targeted by instant moves and will instead miss. Moves such as Submission by Machamp grants Unstoppable.
Apart from being a damage move, Play Rough gives you some mobility when you activate it. If necessary, you can use Rough Play's movement speed increase to run away from enemies.
