Trick Room Effect

Has the user create a bizarre area around itself. If a movement speed decrease is applied to the user while it is within the area, that effect is converted into a movement speed increase, and the user takes reduced damage from Pokemon outside the area. Also, while in the area, the user can use this move again to move a set distance forward, as often as desired.

How to Use Trick Room

Use the Move Again to Maneuver Around Faster

Once the area is laid down, using the move again while inside the area makes Mimikyu dash shortly forward. Utilize this mechanic to quickly move around within or out of the area.

Always Follow Up with an Attack After Each Dash

Since Mimikyu gets a Boosted Attack each time it uses a move, following up with an attack after each dash allows the Pokemon to deal significant amounts of damage.

Utilize the Reduced Damage and Increased Movement Speed

When Mimikyu is inflicted with a slow while inside the area, it will be converted into a movement speed increase instead, and the Pokemon will take reduced damage from opponents outside the area. Take advantage of these effects during fights to mitigate damage and slows.

Use as a Mobility Tool

Just like any other Dash move, Trick Room can be used to traverse the map faster. The move's range is also long enough to allow Mimikyu to move through walls.

Trick Room Patch History

1.16.1.2 Cooldown decreased from 8.5s to 7s. Damage reduction from outside the effective range increased from 50% to 70%.
1.12.1.6 Damage reduction effect increased from 30% to 50%. Cooldown reduced from 11s to 8.5s. (- 2.5s) Trick Room +: Cooldown reduced from 9s to 7.5s. (- 1.5s)
