When the Pokemon deals damage to an opposing Pokemon with a basic attack, the Mega gauge increases. The more the Mega gauge increases, the more the Pokemon's Attack, Defense, and Sp. Def increase. If the Mega gauge becomes full when the Pokemon is Lv. 5 or higher, the Pokemon Mega Evolves for a set amount of time. When the Pokemon Mega Evolves, its Attack, Defense, and Sp. Def increase even more, and its movement speed increases. The more Aeos energy that's consumed (maximum of 30 Aeos energy), the longer the Pokemon remains Mega Evolved (maximum of 15 seconds).
At the base level, the Mega Evolution lasts for 10 seconds.
Aeos Energy Consumed | Mega Evolution Duration |
---|---|
0 | 10 seconds |
25 | 15 seconds |
30 | 15 seconds |
The duration of the Mega Evolution increases depending on the amount of Aeos Energy consumed when it triggers up to a maximum of 15 seconds.
As seen in the video above, the Pokemon has 50 Aeos Energy, but when the Mega Evolution triggered, it only has 20 Aeos Energy left. This means that triggering the Mega Evolution consumes 30 Aeos Energy at max.
However, if the Pokemon has less than 30, it consumes all of it.
Once the Mega gauge fills up and Mewtwo evolves, it's best to utilize the improved stats to beat down targets with attacks and moves. This maximizes the benefits Mewtwo gets when it's Mega evolved.
It's best to always have at least 25 Aeos Energy to prolong the duration of the Mega Evolution. Although triggering the Mega Evolution consumes 30 Aeos Energy at the max, there is no significant difference in terms of duration between consuming 30 Aeos Energy and 25 Aeos Energy.
1.14.1.2 | A certain amount of Aeos Energy will now be consumed at the time of Mega Evolution. Even if the Pokemon doesn't have enough Aeos Energy, all the energy it has will be consumed. Mega Evolution duration increases depending on the Energy consumed. |
---|---|
1.11.1.4 | Defense and Sp. Defense increase while filling up the Mega Gauge reduced. Stat boosts after Mega Evolving were lowered. |
