Hoopa creates a link between itself and an ally Pokemon using a ring, increasing both of their movement speeds and granting them each a shield for a short time. When Hoopa uses Shadow Ball or performs a basic attack, the ring on the linked Pokemon also unleashes the same move or attack. Hoopa can also use this move on itself, increasing Hoopa’s movement speed and granting itself a shield for a while. Additionally, it increases the damage dealt by Shadow Ball.
Although any allied Pokemon can be a good Trick target, All-Rounders and Attacker are the best Trick targets since they greatly benefit from the its buffs. All-Rounders are usually fighting in the frontlines during teamfights, having a shield and a movement speed buff prolongs their combat and helps win it. Meanwhile, Attackers deal incredible damage but are fragile, the shield and movement speed from Trick alleviates their squishiness a little.
You can cast Trick even without a target, allowing you to either escape enemies or chase them.
Since your moveset changes when using Rings Unbound, always use Trick before using your Unite Move. This ensures that you and one of your allies benefit from Trick's buffs for a duration before the move is replaced.
While you're linked to an ally, use Shadow Ball or Phantom Force whenever they're available to make the most out of Trick's effects.
Constantly attacking while linked to an ally doubles the damage you deal with a single attack since the ring from the linked ally replicates your attacks. You can equip Muscle Band to increase your damage and perform more attacks while linked.
