Team YT showed a spectacular performance and took the title as North America's May Finals champions!
Team YT was forced to fight through the loser's bracket after losing to GT. With focus and a bit of luck, they managed to get a second chance at the grand finals by defeating Luminosity in the Loser's Finals.
After winning the Loser's Finals and getting another chance at the championship, Team YT not only managed to 2-0 GT and force a Grand Finals Reset , they also 2-0 GT again in the Grand Finals and won the tournament!
This is an amazing display of determination from Team YT!
As of the May Finals, Amaterasu remains as the top team for North America with a total of 6515 points. Luminosity overtakes TTV and is now sitting at second place with 5540 points. TTV is holding on tightly at third place with 4522 points.
Chandelure finally makes its debut in the competitive scene! The Pokemon garnered a pick rate of 13%, a win rate of 16.7%, and a ban rate of 33.33%. It did fairly well for a new Pokemon, however, it needs more time to find its place in the meta.

Lapras also made its debut in the competitive scene! The Pokemon got a pick rate of 13%, a win rate of 8.3%, and a ban rate of 75%, which is the highest ban rate in the tournament! It's difficult to evaluate the Pokemon's performance in-game since it's mostly banned.
However, being the most banned Pokemon in the tournament does imply that it's a threat that teams don't want to deal with.
Lapras Guide: Builds and Best Items
Alolan Ninetales makes a huge comeback in the competitive scene after remaining idle for a long time! The Pokemon has a pick rate of 46% with a win rate of 58%, making it both the most picked and most successful Pokemon in the tournament. Talk about a comeback!
