Has the user fly in a circular pattern in the designated direction. While the user is flying, it continuously deals damage to nearby opposing Pokemon with basic attacks that deal less damage but have increased attack speed. If this move is used again while the user is flying, the user stops flying and moves a short distance in the designated direction. If the user knocks out a Pokemon on the opposing team, this move's cooldown is reset. If the user assists in knocking out a Pokemon on the opposing team, this move's cooldown is reduced. When this move is used, Dragon Breath's cooldown is reset.
After casting Dragon Dance, you need to choose a direction for Dragapult to start circling around, otherwise, the Pokemon will just stand in place. There are only two directions to choose from; left or right.
While circling around, Dragapult can use Dragon Dance again to end the move early and dash away towards a direction. Use this mechanic to chase down a fleeing target or escape.
You can also use the dash to move through walls when needed. You do need to time it properly and choose the right direction to pull off the stunt.
Dragapult becomes invincible for a short duration when it dashes, allowing Dragapult to avoid damage during that breif time window. Utilize this effect to avoid lethal damage, especially from Sure-hit moves.
List of Status Effects: Buffs and Debuffs
When Dragapult knocks out an opponent, Dragon Dance's cooldown resets, allowing the move to be used again. You can utilize this effect in various way, such as using the move again to escape.
Dragapult can use Dragon Breath while it's circling around during Dragon Dance, which will leave a trail of fire that burns and slows enemies who step in it. Use this special interaction to cut off an opponent's path, especially when they're trying to escape.
Dragon Breath: Dragapult Move Effect and Cooldown
Using Dragon Dance resets Dragon Breath's cooldown, allowing Dragapult to use it twice in a row. To utilize this mechanic, always use Dragon Breath before using Dragon Dance, then use Dragon Breath again while circling around during Dragon Dance. This lets Dragapult ignite more areas with fire, leading to more opponents getting burned and slowed.
You can also use this tactic to farm wild Pokemon faster, especially the Altaria and Swablu camps.
Once upgraded, Dragapult recovers HP when it hits targets with its attacks during Dragon Dance. This gives Dragapult some survivability during clashes in the late game or as a means to heal up without going back to base.
1.9.1.4 | Fixed a bug where the effect that reduced cooldown of the move does not activate. |
