How to Use Solar Beam

Steal Boss Pokemon and Wild Pokemon

Pokemon UNITE - Venusaur Stealing Rotom Using Solar Beam

Utilize Solar Beam's long range and high burst damage to steal boss Pokemon and wild Pokemon from enemies. This requires good timing and percise aiming to pull off.

Get Proper Angle

Try to get the best angle and line up as many targets as you can when using Solar Beam. This may require you to aim manually at times to maximize your damage.

Cast from a Safe Distance

Using Solar Beam puts Venusaur at a vulnerable position. Get to a safe spot far from the fight before using Solar Beam to ensure a safe play. You can hide in grass areas for more protection, then fire Solar Beam when an oppurtunity opens.

Use as a Follow Up

Pokemon UNITE - Venusaur and Mr. Mime Defeating Absol

Solar Beam has a slight wind-up before firing, making it easy for enemies to dodge it. To ensure Solar Beam hits, wait for your allies to disable enemies or block their path, then use Solar Beam as a follow up move.

If your team lacks reliable disabling moves, you can use Sludge Bomb to slow targets, then follow up with Solar Beam.
