Barrier Effect

Has the user throw up a sturdy wall in the designated location that prevents opposing Pokemon from passing. If an opposing Pokemon is near the location where the wall is created, they are shoved and left unable to act for a short time.

How to Use Barrier

Trap, Stun, or Zone Out Enemies

Pokemon UNITE - Mr. Mime Blocking Pikachu Using Barrier

You can trap enemies using Barrier by placing two parallel walls and have them sandwich enemies. You can also use obstructions scattered in the map and use Barrier to trap or zone out enemies, particularly in tight spots like entrances. Barrier is also good for saving allies when they're being chased.

You may also use the huge hitbox of Barrier to stun enemies as you plop it down!

Follow Up with Psychic or Confusion

Pokemon UNITE - Mr. Mime Blocking Wigglytuff Using Barrier

Though it is now possible to stun opponents when plopping down Barrier, always try to follow it up with Psychic or Confusion to make the most out of Barrier. You can also use Barrier to set up your allies' moves.
