Has the user move in the designated direction before slamming the ground with a powerful punch. The shock from the punch deals damage to opposing Pokemon in the area of effect. If this move hits Pokemon from the opposing team, the user's muscle gauge increases by 1 increment for each one that was hit.
It's important to remember that Mega Punch is a move that fills up the Muscle Gauge. With that in mind, always use it first when doing combos.
Mega Punch is a great early-game harass tool. Use it to pounce on opponents or steal their wild Pokemon.
After using Mega Punch, it's best to follow up with attacks to quickly fill up the Muscle Gauge
Since Mega Punch has a large area of effect, you don't have to catch targets right in the middle of the move to deal damage, you can still deal damage just by catching them in the edges of the area of effect. This is effective when chasing down targets.
You can use Mega Punch to leap over walls. However, you need to be right beside walls before using Mega Punch to ensure a successful leap.
1.7.1.7 | Damage increased from 357 to 449 (+26%). |
