Ranked Battle Season 8 in Pokemon Legends: Z-A runs from March 12 to April 2, 2026, providing a bigger amount of Mega Shards and all the porevious Ranked Battle Mega Stones as the Ranked Rewards. Read on to learn more about Ranked Battle Season 8, the legal and banned Pokemon, and rules.

Season 8 of Ranked Battles is running starting from March 12, 2026 until April 2, 2026. This Ranked Battle event features an increased drops for Mega Shards. This Ranked Match allows only for Pokemon who have access to Mega Evolution.

The Season 8 ruleset is limited to only Pokemon who received new Mega Evolutions in Legends Z-A and the Mega Dimension DLC! There is no limits on Legendaries and Mythical Pokemon on your team.
All regional forms and alternate forms of Pokemon who have Mega Evolutions but cannot Mega Evolve are not allowed to participate!

You cannot use any other Held Item for your Pokemon other than Mega Stones introduced in Z-A and its DLC. You can have a Pokemon Hold a Mega Stone it cannot use, but that serves no purpose than giving yourself a handicap.

You can obtain all the previous Ranked Battle Mega Stones once you reach Rank S in Season 8. If you are not able to obtain them during the previous seasons, you can also get these Mega Stones upon reaching Rank Y to S, respectively.
You can also receive Mega Shards and other Items as you climb through this season's ladder.

Players who have reached certain milestones during Season 8 will receive rewards after each season ends and the results are announced and are the based on the results of your battles. Players need to finish at least one match with a win or loss during the season to be eligible for rewards.
