Rogue Mega Ampharos is an Electric and Dragon-type Pokemon, which is weak to Ground, Ice, Dragon, and Fairy. But, it resists other types, such as Flying, Steel, Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric.
We do recommend using any Ground, Ice, or Fairy-type Pokemon against Rogue Mega Ampharos. Any Dragon-type Pokemon can be used, but they are not highly recommended due to Dragon types being weak against their own.
Gardevoir
|
Moves: ・ Psychic ・ Moonblast ・ Draining Kiss ・ Calm Mind Where to Get: ・Evolve from Ralts evolution line, which is found at Vert Sector 4. An Alpha Ralts can also be found at the same location during the Night. Summary: Gardevoir is the best counter to Rogue Mega Ampharos. Since it only uses Dragon-type moves, it makes Gardevoir completely immune against all of it. |
With Gardevoir being a Psychic and Fairy-type, it makes it fully immune to Rogue Mega Ampharos' Dragon-type attacks. Making your only worry would be its AoE Electric-type attacks, but those are pretty weak.
Gardevoir Location, Evolution, and Stats

As an early purchase bonus for Pokemon Legends: ZA, you can get a free Ralts and Gardevoirite by selecting 'Mystery Gifts' in Link Play then connecting to the internet.
This can only be claimed until February 28, 2026.
How to Get Gardevoirite Mega Stone
| Calm Mind → Psychic → Moonblast → Draining Kiss → Psychic |
Start off with Calm Mind to increase Gardevoir's Sp. Atk and Sp. Def. Then, follow it up with etiher Psychic or Moonblast because both of these moves have the same cooldown. You can also use Draining Kiss in between those two moves if you need to recover some HP.
Abomasnow
|
Moves: ・ Ice Beam ・ Ice Punch ・ Growth ・ Mist Where to Get: ・Evolve from Snorunt, which is found at Wild Zone 12. An Alpha Abomasnow can also be found at the same location. Summary: Abomasnow is a good counter to Rogue Mega Ampharos offensively due to its Ice-type moves. However, Abomasnow might struggle defensively, since Rogue Mega Ampharos uses Dragon-type moves most of the time. |
Rogue Mega Ampharos' Dragon-type is naturally weak against Ice-type moves, which are Abomasnow's specialty. Amobasnow's Grass-type resists against Electric-type moves. The only worry for Amobasnow is its low base Speed and Ampharos' Dragon-type moves.
Abomasnow Location, Evolution, and Stats

The Abomasite can be bought at Quasartico Inc. for 50,000 P. This can be used to Mega Evolve your very own Abomasnow.
| Growth → Mist → Ice Beam → Ice Punch → Growth/Mist |
Use Growth first to increase Attack and Sp. Atk., then immediately follow it up with Mist to prevent your Pokemon from decreasing any of its stats.
Afterward, you can follow it up with Ice Beam, then Ice Punch. Ice Beam needs to be used first since it has a longer cooldown than Ice Punch.
| Rogue Mega Ampharos Battle Tips |

|
Rogue Mega Ampharos usually uses Breaking Swipe, which it walks towards its target, performs a wide swing, and slaps the target. This can be easily dodged by standing back from Mega Ampharos.
Another frequently used move of Rogue Mega Ampharos is the Dragon Pulse, where it stands firmly, and shoots blasts of Dragon Rings on its target.
Since it shoots a series of Dragon Rings, you can dodge or roll over to the side to avoid this Dragon-type attack.
When Rogue Mega Ampharos uses its charge mode, it goes to the center of the battlefield, coats its nearby surroundings with an Electric force field, and summons lightning strikes.
The areas where the lightning hit summon a puddle of Electric rings, similar to what Sand Tomb or Whirlpool moves look like. During this time, you can retreat your Pokemon and try to dodge the lightning strikes.

The Rogue Mega Ampharos Battle is found at the Rouge District, at the rooftop of the building, south of Wild Zone 4. You need to defeat Gwynn first before getting access to the holovator that getsd you to the rooftop.

After defeating the Rogue Mega Ampharos, you will receive the Ampharosite Mega Stone as a reward. The Ampharosite allows you to Mega Evolve your own Ampharos in your team.
