You can start Honedge’s Cutting Edge by talking to Acier. He’s located across from the Rouge Pokemon Center, or north of it if you’re referring to the map.

The only way to get a Pupitar is by evolving a Larvitar at level 30. However, you’ll also need to match or exceed Acier’s level to stand a better chance against his Honedge, which can one-shot you if you’re under-leveled. Make sure your Pupitar is at least level 55 or higher, but don’t evolve it into Tyranitar just yet if it reaches this level!

You can catch a decently leveled Larvitar in Wild Zone 15, but the area to reach it requires you to complete Side Mission 080: A Shocking Territorial Dispute first. If you’ve already completed that mission, head up using the now-fixed Holovator, and you should see the Larvitar waiting for you to catch. It usually appears around level 43, all ready to evolve!
If you prefer an Alpha version, make sure to catch all the Pokemon within Wild Zone 15. Doing so increases Larvitar’s chances of spawning as an Alpha to around 5–10%, meaning it will also appear at a higher level.

To start, catch and train a Larvitar until it evolves into a Pupitar. Make sure to only have Pupitar in your party. Otherwise, Acier won’t accept your challenge, as he only prefers a one-on-one match between your Pupitar and his Honedge.
EXP Farming Guide: How to Level Up Fast

As part of your preparation, make sure to teach Pupitar moves that are super effective against Honedge. From its move set, your best options are Earthquake and Crunch, but it’s good to have backups like Sand Tomb in case you’re waiting for the cooldown on both moves.

Once you have a Pupitar, go ahead and challenge Acier. Keep using Earthquake for STAB damage, and while it’s on cooldown, use Crunch. If he manages to land an Iron Head or any move that Pupitar is weak against, make sure to heal and bring it back to full health.
