Our Gluttonous Gulpin unlocks by completing Hyperspace Mission 5, after you check out the noise from the Strategy Room.

Fast Travel to Hotel Z and head inside the building. Approach Gulpin who is sitting on top of a small table next to the reception desk. Speak with it and accept the request to begin the side mission.

Make a Low-Rank Donut
For the mission's purposes, you can craft a low-ranking Donut made from weak Berries that you have a lot of, as this is an introduction to a mechanic that allows you to exchange unused lower-tier Donuts for a random Berry.
Feed Gulpin a Donut
Speak with Gulpin again and select a low-rank Donut to feed it with. Make sure that you don't accidentally select a higher-tier one, as all Donuts fed to Gulpin will be permanently consumed. In return, you’ll receive a random regular Berry of equal or higher rarity than the ingredients used, which will also complete the side mission.
Giving Donuts to Gulpin Gives Back a regular Berry
You can keep giving Gulpin unused Donuts after the side mission, and they will give you back a random regular Berry. Note that this is not a way to retrieve 100% of the materials used, as Gulpin will only give back one regular Berry per Donut.
If a Donut was made using regular Berries, you have a high chance of getting back a Berry that is of the same tier as the Berries used to create that Donut. For example, if you crafted a 1-Star Donut, you might get back a Yache Berry, or any other Berry of the same tier.
Gulpin Does Not Give Back Hyper Berries
Giving Gulpin a Donut made from Hyper Berries does not give back a Hyper Berry. You will still obtain a random regular Berry, with a chance to obtain a low-tier one, so we don't recommend feeding them a high-tier Donut unless you have no use for them anymore.
Our Gluttonous Gulpin Rewards
Donut Recycling
You'll be able to unlock the ability to recycle unused low-tier Donuts by feeding them to Gulpin after completing this mission. While this won’t refund the ingredients used to make a Donut, it does let you clear excess Donuts from your Satchel for a chance to get better Berries.
If you have a surplus of low-tier Berries, this method also gives you a chance to obtain mid- to high-tier ones.
