One surefire way to increase a Pokemon's EVs is by giving them Vitamins. Specifically, each type of Vitamin gives 10 EVs corresponding to one of the six main stats.
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
Zinc |
A nutritious drink for Pokemon. This drink increases base points for a Pokemon's Sp. Def stat. |
Protein |
A nutritious drink for Pokemon. This drink increases base points for a Pokemon's Attack stat. |
Calcium |
A nutritious drink for Pokemon. This drink increases base points for a Pokemon's Sp. Attack stat. |
Iron |
A nutritious drink for Pokemon. This drink increases base points for a Pokemon's Defense stat. |
Carbos |
A nutritious drink for Pokemon. This drink increases base points for a Pokemon's Speed stat. |
HP Up |
A nutritious drink for Pokemon. This drink increases base points for a Pokemon's HP stat. |
Once you clear the game, you can purchase Vitamins at Pokemon Centers, and one Vitamin costs 5000.
If you want to allocate your Pokemon's EVs efficiently, then you will have to buy a total of 53 Vitamins for maximum EVs, which costs a total of 265,000.

While they are less effective than Vitamins, Feathers have the same type of effect as each type of Feather adds 1 EV to one of the six stats.
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
Swift Feather |
An item to be used on a Pokemon. This feather slightly increases base points for a Pokemon's Speed stat. |
Health Feather |
An item to be used on a Pokemon. This feather slightly increases base points for a Pokemon's HP stat. |
Genius Feather |
An item to be used on a Pokemon. This feather slightly increases base points for a Pokemon's Sp. Atk stat. |
Clever Feather |
An item to be used on a Pokemon. This feather slightly increases base points for a Pokemon's Sp. Def stat. |
Resist Feather |
An item to be used on a Pokemon. This feather slightly increases base points for a Pokemon's Defense stat. |
Muscle Feather |
An item to be used on a Pokemon. This feather slightly increases base points for a Pokemon's Attack stat. |
Since feathers only add 1 EV point to one of the six stats, you can use them to fine-tune or carefully adjust a Pokemon's EVs.

Another way to increase your Pokemon's EVs is by battling other Pokemon. Each Pokemon specie provides an EV increase to one of the six stats upon defeat, so make sure you're fighting the right Pokemon to get the EV gains that you're looking for!
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
Power Bracer |
An item to be held by a Pokemon. This bracer reduces a Pokemon's Speed in battle but allows its Attack stat to grow more quickly. |
Power Anklet |
An item to be held by a Pokemon. The anklet reduces a Pokemon's Speed in battle but allows its Speed stat to grow more quickly. |
Power Lens |
An item to be held by a Pokemon. The lens reduces a Pokemon's Speed in battle but allows its Sp. Atk stat to grow more quickly. |
Power Weight |
An item to be held by a Pokemon. The weight reduces a Pokemon's Speed in battle but allows its HP stat to grow more quickly. |
Power Belt |
An item to be held by a Pokemon. The belt reduces a Pokemon's Speed in battle but allows its Defense stat to grow more quickly. |
Power Band |
An item to be held by a Pokemon. The band reduces a Pokemon's Speed in battle but allows its Sp. Def stat to grow more quickly. |
Training items guarantee that you will get the EVs that you want each time you defeat a Pokemon as you get 8 EVs in a single stat depending on which training item your Pokemon is holding.
However, you can only acquire these items after you finish Main Mission 38 and finish the story. In addition, these items reduce your Pokemon's speed, so try fighting weaker Pokemon while using these items instead.

Alpha Pokemon have their HP EVs maxed, so if you plan on using a Pokemon that should have max HP EVs, you can catch its Alpha variant instead.

If you want to check your Pokemon's EVs, then you can head to the menu and choosing Check summary after selecting one of your Pokemon. Afterward, scroll down to the Stats section to see a graph of your Pokemon's EVs.
| Graph | Explanation |
|---|---|
![]() |
White Graph You can still add EVs to your Pokemon. |
![]() |
Stat Name is Sparkling The EVs for that specific stat is already maxed out |
![]() |
Yellow Graph You have fully distributed the maximum amount of EVs to your Pokemon. |
The graph will tell if you still have EVs left to allot or if you've already reached the maximum amount of EVs allowed for one stat or overall.

Players can exchange 5 Mega Shards at the Rust Syndicate's reception in order to reset their Pokemon's EVs. Note that this will only be accessible after completing Main Mission 20.

Players can opt to feed their Pokemon certain berries in order to lower the base points of a stat. There are 6 berries that can do this: Pomeg (HP) Kelpsy (Atk) Qualot (Def) Hondew (Sp. Atk) Grepa (Sp. Def) Tamato (Spd).
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
Kelpsy Berry |
If a Pokemon is fed this berry, it will grow more friendly, but it will lose base points for its Attack stat. |
Grepa Berry |
If a Pokemon is fed this berry, it will grow more friendly, but it will lose base points for its Sp. Def stat. |
Tamato Berry |
If a Pokemon is fed this berry, it will grow more friendly, but it will lose base points for its Speed stat. |
Pomeg Berry |
If a Pokemon is fed this berry, it will grow more friendly, but it will lose base points for its HP stat. |
Qualot Berry |
If a Pokemon is fed this berry, it will grow more friendly, but it will lose base points for its Defense stat. |
Hondew Berry |
If a Pokemon is fed this berry, it will grow more friendly, but it will lose base points for its Sp. Atk stat. |
The berry stall that sells these for this can be found at the Magenta Sector 6, right above Wild Zone 9. It costs P200 per berry. Note that each use lowers the base points by 10.
Garchomp

| Attack | Speed | |
| Has EVs | 182 | 169 |
| No EVs | 150 | 134 |
Effort Values (EVs) are hidden values that correspond to each of the six main stats that a Pokemon has: HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. Specifically, 4 EVs is equivalent to 1 stat point, and a Pokemon can only gain a maximum of 252 EVs per stat and a total of 508 EVs.
In the example above, Garchomp's stats are significantly higher due to EVs. Allocate your EVs based on what stats suit your Pokemon the best!

I have two pokemon holding the same power item. One is doing the battle but it seems like both of them are getting the same amount of EVs. I wonder if I can just have an even stronger pokemon to do the battling while the other two just gain the EVs. Right now I am testing that out.
