Mega Delphox Build★★★★★ |
Strengths:
• Gets a major boost to its Sp. Atk when Mega Evolved. • Great counter for the ever present Metagross. • Can also focus as a scorer by dealing damage in a wide area. Weaknesses: • Made more for Long Range battles, struggles badly if faced with Physical Attackers. • Doesn't gety much as Evasion moves go. |
Regular Delphox Build★★★☆☆ |
Strengths:
• Has a lot of utility for any team. • Can hold different items like Focus Sash or Leftovers. Weaknesses: • Not tanky enough to survive higher Ranks. • Mainly used as a Screen setter for your other Pokemon. |

This build focuses on providing AoE crowd control and damage using Psychic and Heat Wave from afar. Use Protect to mitigate damage from Earthquake or Stone Edge.
| Item | Effect / Location |
|---|---|
|
|
Effect: One of a variety of mysterious Mega Stones. A Delphox holding this stone will be able to Mega Evolve during battle. |
The item chosen for Delphox for this build is its Mega Stone, Delphoxite.
How to Get Delphoxite Mega Stone
| Psychic | Your main attacking move and will home onto enemies when cast. |
|---|---|
| Dazzling Gleam | Used mostly if a Pokemon like Garchomp gets too close. Mostly used as a panic button. |
| Heat Wave | Used to KO pesky Ice and Steel-types like Metagross, Skarmory, and Glaceon. You can also deal damage in a pretty wide area to score points. |
| Will-O-Wisp | Can debilitate Physical attackers forcing them to take the damage or waste their switches. |
This set focuses on having Delphox deal as much damage as possible for points and cover its mittling Defense stat with moves like Will-O-Wisp.
| Psyshock | Can replace Psychic, but only if you know you're facing off against Special Walls like Clefable or Sylveon. |
|---|---|
| Mystical Fire | Can be useful if you're faced off against Special Attackers like Glaceon or Froslass. |
| Shadow Ball | A good alternative to Heat Wave for the occasional Ghost-types. |
| Protect | Requires good timing, but can easily turn the tides if you do it perfectly. |
| Nasty Plot | Can be slot in to boost your damage, but higher level play is too fast for setting up. |
| Solar Beam | Great counter against Water types like Gyarados and Greninja. But not that good unless you're Mega Evolved or use up a Plus Move |
A full 252 EVs are put into Delphox's Special Attack and HP to make it hit as hard as possible and take a few hits. The extra 4 EVs are placed into Speed for quicker move cooldowns, but its negligible.
A Modest nature is preferred to help further increase Delphox's Special Attack stat.
| Item: Metagrossite | Moonblast + 230-272 (148.3 - 175.4%) Guaranteed OHKO |
| Item: Clefablite | Psychic + 88-105 (43.5 - 51.9%) 11.3% chance to 2HKO |
| Item: Garchompite | Earthquake 246-290 (164 - 193.3%) Guaranteed OHKO |

| Summary | |||||||||

This build focuses on Delphox just using a Life Orb and relying on Plus Moves. This build is similar to the Mega Delphox build, but requires more careful maneuvering due to its frailness combined with Life Orb chip damage.
| Item | Effect / Location |
|---|---|
|
|
Effect: An item to be held by a Pokemon. It boosts the power of the holder's moves, but the holder also loses a small amount of HP upon landing an attack. Location(s): • Purchased at Racine Construction (₽ 4980) • Reward from Side Mission 85 |
The item chosen for Delphox for this build is the Life Orb. This will allow Delphox to go beyond the damage of what its Mega can do.
Life Orb: How to Get and How to Use
| Psyshock | Targets an opponent's Physical Defense rather than Special, giving you options. |
|---|---|
| Light Screen | Used mostly to protect your Garchomp from an Ice Beam or Blizzard if an opponent predicts your switch. |
| Mystical Fire | Used to KO pesky Ice and Steel-types like Metagross, Skarmory, and Glaceon. |
| Will-O-Wisp | Can debilitate Physical attackers forcing them to take the damage or waste their switches. |
This set focuses on having Delphox be a hybrid attacker or set up screens for allies like Garchomp or Excadrill.
| Psychic | Can replace Psyshock especially in the current meta where Physically Defensive 'mons like Metagross and Skarmory run rampant. |
|---|---|
| Shadow Ball | A good alternative to Will-O-Wisp for the occasional Ghost-types. |
| Thunderbolt | Another alternative to Mystical Fire if your team needs to cover for Gyarados or Skarmory. |
| Protect | Requires good timing, but can easily turn the tides if you do it perfectly. |
| Nasty Plot | Can be slot in to boost your damage, but higher level play is too fast for setting up. |
| Solar Beam | Great counter against Water types like Gyarados and Greninja. But not that good unless you use up a Plus Move |
| Item: Dragoninite | Psyshock + 224-266 (113.1 - 134.3%) Guaranteed OHKO |
| Item: Assault Vest | Mystical Fire + 87-103 (37.3 - 44.2%) Guaranteed 3HKO |
| Item: Gengarite | Sludge Wave 158-188 (90.2 - 107.4%) 43.8% chance to OHKO |
With the combination of a Life Orb or Mega Evolution and its high base Special Attack, it would be difficult for a Pokemon to survive an attack from Delphox unless it has decent Sp. Def investment or forgo its held item for an Assault Vest.
Use a hyper-offense team that has Pokemon that can complement Delphox's offensive pressure.
| Grass Attacker | Fire Attacker | Water Attacker |
|---|---|---|
Venusaur
|
Mega Delphox
|
Gyarados
|
These three Pokemon are all powerful attackers and can cover for a wide variety of enemies. Switch in and out Pokemon to gain a favourable matchup while also looking to punish your opponent when you have a bad switch in.
| Offensive Lead | Special Sweeper | Physical Sweeper |
|---|---|---|
Glaceon
|
Delphox
|
Metagross
|
This team focuses on having a team that focuses only on beating as many opponents as you can. Delphox and Metagross can also hold their own through Mega Evolution, or just use items like Life Orb to further wreak havoc to your opponents.
| Pokemon | Description |
|---|---|
Greninja
