Mega Zygarde Best Nature and Moveset for Story

Impish or Careful

Nature Stat Changes
Impish Defense, SpAtk
Careful SpDef, SpAtk

Due to Zygarde (50% Forme) having very high Defensive stats, its best natures are either Impish or Careful to boost its Defense or Special Defense further.

Zygarde (50% Forme) also has a better Attack stat compared to its Special Attack, so choosing one of the above natures allows Zygarde (50% Forme) to still deal some damage with its Physical Moves.

Alternative Natures

Nature Stat Changes
Relaxed Defense, Speed
Sassy SpDef, Speed

You can also give Zygarde (50% Forme) either Relaxed or Sassy nature, allowing you to increase your Defense or Special Defense at the cost of reduced Speed.

Keep in mind that giving Zygarde (50% Forme) any of the above two natures will increase the cooldown of moves, putting you at a disadvantage against faster Pokemon.

Use Mints to Change Natures

Mint Usage

If your Zygarde (50% Forme) has a different Nature than the ones we recommend above, you can use a Mint to change its Nature.
Mints Locations and How to Change Nature

Best Zygarde (50% Forme) Moveset for the Story

Move Type Cooldown
Thousand Arrows Pokemon Ground Type Icon 10
Thousand Waves Pokemon Ground Type Icon 10
Land’s Wrath Pokemon Ground Type Icon 8
Core Enforcer Pokemon Dragon Type Icon 15

We recommend the moves Land’s Wrath, Core Enforcer, Thousand Arrows, and Thousand Waves when using Zygarde (50% Forme) during the main story.

Nihil Light Replaces Core Enforcer

Using Nihil Light

Core Enforcer is replaced by Nihil Light when Zygarde Mega Evolves into Mega Zygarde, which is possible when it is holding a Zygardite while in its Complete Forme, which it transforms into upon dropping to 50% HP.

Nihil Light will then be usable until Zygarde's Mega Evolution timer expires.
