Ranked Battle Season 5 in Pokemon Legends: Z-A will run from January 8 to January 29, 2026, providing the Sceptilite as the Ranked Reward for reaching Rank S. Read on to learn more about Ranked Battle Season 5, how to get the Sceptilite, the legal and banned Pokemon, and rules.

Season 5 of Ranked Battles will be available on January 8, 2026 and will run until January 29, 2026. This Ranked Battle event feature the Sceptilite Mega Stone, which allows you to get Mega Sceptile.

The Season 5 ruleset allows for all Pokemon in the Lumiose Pokedex from Chikorita up until Metagross! Aditionally, Pokemon from the Hyperspace Pokedex starting from Mankey until Latios are now also usable! Magearna and Zeraora are also usable for this season.
All regional forms an Mega Evolutions of Pokemon within both Pokedexes are also allowed to participate!

Details of Legal Teams & Pokemon
- A player’s team cannot contain two Pokémon with the same Lumiose or Hyperspace Pokedex number.
- All Pokemon will have their stats scaled to Level 50.
- Two Pokemon cannot hold the same item.
- Regional Forms of all Pokemon within Lumiose Dex #001 until #227 and Hyperspace Dex #001 until #127, #131, and #132 are legal.

You can obtain the Sceptilite once you reach Rank S in Season 5. If you are not able to obtain the Chesnaughtite, Greninjite, and Delphoxite during the previous seasons, you can also get these Mega Stones upon reaching Rank U, W, and Y, respectively.
You can also receive Mega Shards and other Items as you climb through this season's ladder.

Players who have reached certain milestones during Season 5 will receive rewards after each season ends and the results are announced and are the based on the results of your battles. Players need to finish at least one match with a win or loss during the season to be eligible for rewards.
Season 5 Ruleset
- You will obtain Points depending on your Rank and Actions Taken. Even if you lose, you will receive points.
- You cannot go down a rank once your tier has been raised. No matter how many times you lose, your Tier will stay the same.
- An Internet connection is required in playing Ranked Battles. You will need an Nintendo Switch Online Subscription to participate in all online activities in Pokemon including Ranked Battles.
