The unnamed man wearing a blue suit can be found within a small alleyway behind a building, facing Wild Zone 17. Speak with him there and accept his request to start the side mission.

Each Disk from the unnamed man costs 540 Mega Shards, for a total of 2,160 Mega Shards if you purchase them all at once, though they can be bought gradually over time. If you’re short on Mega Shards, you can farm them around Lumiose City or enter Hyperspace Zones, where they are plentiful.
After purchasing all four Disks, speak with the man again and show them to him. He will send intel to your Rotom Phone about a unique location that you can track to Wild Zone 13.

Fast Travel to Wild Zone 13 and enter the area. We recommend activating the side mission tracker and following it toward the northern section of the zone. Once there, interact with a tall window in between two windows of the same hieght to reveal an Unknown Hyperspace Zone, which you can enter at any time.

Before passing through, make sure that you consume a high-ranking Donut that boosts your Pokemon by at least 70–80 Levels or more, as you'll be faced with a Level 200 Pokemon upon entering. Having a Donut with a substat that raises Catch Power for Bug-type Pokemon will be especially useful here, as you'll be encountering a Genesect.

A Level 200 Genesect awaits inside the pocket dimension, standing in a clearing beyond the cragged rocks. Unlike other Legendary Pokemon encountered during Hyperspace Missions, you don't need to defeat Genesect before attempting capture, as you can immediately begin throwing Poke Balls at it.
If you choose to weaken it first, a strong Fire-type Pokemon such as Charizard is highly effective, since Genesect has a 4x weakness to Fire-type moves. You can also use a Pokemon that has the ability to Paralyze with Electric-type moves, or a similar debuff, to help with your chances of a successful catch.
We recommend using a Net Ball for its increased catch rate against Bug-type Pokemon, giving you the best chance to capture Genesect. If your attempt fails the first time, you can keep retrying the encounter until you capture the Mythical Pokemon.
As an alternative to capturing Genesect while their HP is fully depleted, you can try to reduce its HP to a very low level without fully knocking it out, then repeatedly throw Poke Balls until a successful capture.
It will continue to attack after recovering from a failed capture, so let a Pokemon with resistance to Bug-type moves tank the damage, and heal them with a Max Potion before they faint. This method allows you to bypass the pre-battle cutscene and prevent Genesect's HP from resetting.

If you're still having a hard time capturing Genesect, make sure that your Blue Canari Plush's level is maxed out to give you a higher chance of success at catching Pokemon. You can level up this item with Colorful Screws via the trader in front of Racine Construction.
Which Canari Plush Should You Get?

Going through this side mission will reward you with a Genesect to keep after you successfully catch it, adding a Mythical Pokemon to your roster which can be trained as you please!
