When hovering over a Hyperspace Battle Zone on the map, you should be able to see one to three types listed in the Common Types section of the hyperspace information. The types listed will be the the types of the Pokemon the Trainers here will have.
With this information, you can prepare your team before entering the Hyperspace Battle Zone. Make sure you have level 100 Pokemon on your team that can deal with the types listed for the hyperspace distortion.
Take note that the Pokemon inside the battle zone will also include dual types that may have different weaknesses.

All Pokemon found in Hyperspace Lumiose are over level 100. The higher the star rating of the distortion, the higher you can expect the levels are. 5-star Hyperspace Battle Zones will have Trainers with Pokemon at level 200.
Hyper Strong Pokemon: How to Get Level 100+ Pokemon

Unlike in Z-A Royale battles, the timer does not pause when battling Trainers in Hyperspace Battle Zones. Using donuts that provide a lot of Donut Energy is ideal if you want to find specific Trainers for their rewards or find the Bonus Ball after completing survey tasks.
Try to make sure the donut star rating matches with the star rating of the hyperspace distortion. It's not necessary to use donuts with a higher star rating than the distortion you're entering to avoid using up your rare Hyper Berries.

Similar to fighting in Z-A Royale battle zones, you can sneak up behind Trainers and launch surprise attacks on their Pokemon to gain an advantage. If the move is strong enough, it may knock out their Pokemon altogether. If they survive, the Pokemon will be stunned, and you'll have a chance to attack again.
| Hyperspace Battle Zone Survey Tasks |
|---|
There is less variety with Hyperspace Battle Zone survey tasks compared to the ones available in Hyperspace Wild Zones. You mainly need to defeat a given amount Trainers each time you enter a Hyperspace Battle Zone.
Sometimes you will be required to fight them in specific ways, such as using supereffective moves. In general, the tasks are simpler and more predictable in these zones, which might be a better way for many players to earn survey points.
How to Farm Hyperspace Survey Points

Compared to Z-A Royale battles, it is faster to complete the research task from Mable that requires you to defeat 1000 Trainers. In the Z-A Royale, a results screen is shown after every battle. This isn't present in hyperspace battles. Although it's not a big difference, when adding up all the battles, the unskippable results screen takes a significant chunk of your time.
If you're only completing research tasks to get the Shiny Charm, you may not need to complete the 1000-Trainer task. The Mega Dimension DLC adds new research tasks that you can complete instead to earn enough research points for the Shiny Charm.
List of All Mable's Research Rewards
Battles in Hyperspace Lumiose do not generate any experience points nor monetary rewards. If you're in need of money or EXP, it's better to battle in the Z-A Royale or at restaurants instead.
However, you can earn rewards from defeating certain Trainers in Hyperspace Battle Zones. You can also pick up items, including Exp. Candies, through floating Poke Balls, Bonus Balls, and sparkling spots inside the hyperspace area.

Trainers that get a yellow dialogue bubble over their heads after you defeat them will have rewards for you. Talk to them in order to claim the rewards.
Only a select few Trainers give rewards in Hyperspace Battle Zones, and the Trainer type will determine what kind of reward you'll get.

The same Trainers who give rewards in Z-A Royale battle zones also give rewards in Hyperspace Battle Zones. The quality of their rewards may depend on the star rating of the zone you're in. Hyper Berries with high Flavor Scores and Gold Bottle Caps may only be available in 4-star and 5-star Hyperspace Battle Zones.
In 5-star Hyperspace Battle Zones, you also have a chance of obtaining rare Poke Balls from Trainers, including Apriballs. The Trainers that give these out are the Collectors and the wealthy-looking Trainers that do not appear in Hyperspace Battle Zones with lower star ratings. 5-star Hyperspace Battle Zones are the best to enter if you're looking to earn more rewards while battling.

Like in Hyperspace Wild Zones, Hyperspace Battle Zones contain floating Poke Balls that you can destroy to obtain items such as Hyper Berries, Exp. Candies, evolution items, and medicines. Completing all survey tasks in a zone allows a gold Bonus Ball to appear, which often contain a lot of rare Hyper Berries.
You can also approach sparkling spots on the ground to pick up Gimmighoul Coins or Poke Balls.
The higher the star rating of the Hyperspace Battle Zone, the more likely it is for you to pick up rare varieties of the available items. This means that if you want to obtain rare Hyper Berries, rare Poke Balls, or Exp. Candy XL, you should go to 4-star or 5-star Hyperspace Battle Zones.

Hyperspace Battle Zones are similar to the Z-A Royale Battle Zones that appear at night in Lumiose City. These areas consist of Trainers that will engage you in a Pokemon battle if they see you or if you attack their Pokemon.
