There are different kinds of weather conditions in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Read on to learn more about each weather type, their effects, how to see a rainbow and how players can change the weather.
How to Change Weather
Pass The Time by Resting
The weather over Lumiose City will change over time, so you can either change the in-game time by resting on benches or wait for your preferred weather conditions to appear. Changing your console's time does not affect the time passing in game.
Note that rain usually only lasts for a few minutes before clearing up and does not usually last the whole day.

Clear Skies

Most of the time, the weather in the Kalos region will be clear. This weather is necessary for the Pokemon Helioptile to appear in Wild Zone 14.
Skarmory will appear in Wild Zone 17 during clear or cloudy skies. Compared to strong sunlight, the sky will be a less vibrant blue with only some clouds.
Strong Sunlight Later in the Day
This type of weather only differs from clear skies in terms of time encountered and lighting. The sky will be bluer and trainers can see the sunlight reflecting off of some surfaces especially on roofs. It has the same map icon in the top right as the one for Clear Skies.

When the weather is cloudy, the skies will be slightly covered. However, there still won't be any special environmental effects that will affect your battles.
The Pokemon Skarmory will appear in Wild Zone 17 during clear or cloudy weather. It can be cloudy during the day or night.
Foggy

Different from cloudy weather, when the weather is foggy there is a mist in the surrounding environment making it harder to see.
Rain

Rainy Weather will cause water droplets to fall from the sky. Certain Pokemon such as Goomy only appear during rainy weather, and Sliggoo can only evovle into Goodra if it's raining. It can rain both during the day and night.
Rainbow

After it rains, trainers can look up and see a special sight, a rainbow in the sky. The status on the map will also indicate that there is a rainbow.
How to Know Incoming Weather
Transition Screens Show the Weather Status
When switching from night to day, the transition screens will show the incoming weather. In the picture above, the weather is shown to move from cloudy to clear.
