Sneaking up on opponents and striking first gives a big advantage when battling in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Learn how sneak up on other trainers and strike first.

How to Sneak Up on Opponents
Crouch and Hide Behind Objects
Players can crouch by pressing the left joystick button which helps them hide better behind cover such as bushes. This allows you to get close enough to aim and command your Pokemon to attack.
Note that even if your Pokemon is in the opponents line of sight, you can still sneak up as long as your trainer is not seen.
Wait for Them to Turn Around
Sometimes in the Z-A Royale, there are opponents out in the open without any cover nearby. In most of these cases, trainers have to wait for the other trainer to turn around in order to sneak up on them.
Sneak Up on Pokemon to Catch or First Attack Them
Sneaking up also applies to Pokemon, with some even fleeing when they spot a trainer. Catch a Pokemon off guard by crouching in the grass or waiting until they face away from you. Trainers can then throw their Poke Ball or attack with their own Pokemon.
