The Red Canari Plush increases the experience points that you gain from battles, and you can get this Canari Plush from Tarragon at the beginning of Main Mission 05.
Afterward, you can upgrade it twice at the Racine Construction Company in exchange for Colorful Screws to maximize EXP gain.
Which Canari Plush Should You Get?
When you are in the Battle Zone, try to look for trainer with an Audino as their first Pokemon in the ZA Royale. You should immediately kill the Trainer's Audino (the one that is on the field) by attacking first before initiating the fight.
After killing the Audino, the battle will start but immediately run away to reset the fight. You will still get massive EXP from the initial kill and will cause their first Pokemon to come back again. This means that you can repeat the kill and run strategy in the Battle Zone, which is a quick way to gain EXP.

To farm EXP quickly, you can exchange Mega Shards at Quarantico Inc. for Exp. Candies. Mega Shards are easy to obtain, and you can use low cooldown moves such as Quick Attack to destroy crystals efficiently.
Going through the farming spots in our page below takes around 5 minutes and nets you 600-650 Mega Shards. You can get 81 Exp. Candy S for 650 Mega Shards, and for reference, this is enough to level up a Level 7 Magikarp to Level 37.

You can also give one of your Pokemon a Lucky Egg as this item increases the amount of experience your Pokemon gets. In order to obtain, you must finish Side Mission 109, which you can unlock after Main Mission 37.

You can gain lots of experience as well as Exp. Candies from fighting Alpha Pokemon that are at a higher level compared to your own. To make the fight easy, use Toxic on the Alpha Pokemon and retrieve the Pokemon you sent out. Afterward, keep dodging their attacks as the poison damage kills them.
You can also use Perish Song as this guarantees that the Alpha Pokemon dies after the 30 second countdown. However, the move is only learned by a few Pokemon upon leveling up, so it may not be usable in the early stages of the game.

Defeating a Pokemon gives you experience points, but catching a wild Pokemon gives you even more EXP, and after you reduce a wild Pokemon's HP to zero, the Pokemon becomes catchable. So make sure to catch the wild Pokemon to gain an additional two-thirds of the experience points you got from initially defeating it. Note that this also applies to Alpha Pokemon.

There are different types of obstructions throughout Lumiose City, and you can gain some experience points from breaking them. Each type of obstruction can be removed by using specific moves, such as boulders being breakable by strong Physical moves like Rock Smash.
How to Destroy Boulders and Obstructions

Another way to gain EXP is by battling Trainers within the Battle Zones during Z-A Royales. If the opponent is higher level than your Pokemon, they will give more EXP.

Use Experience Candies and Rare Candies to give your Pokemon EXP and level. Exp. Candies give a certain amount of experience points depending on the candy while one Rare Candy increases the level of your Pokemon by one level.
