Special Attacker Build★★★☆☆ |
Strengths:
• Amazing movepool that counters a lot of meta options like Garchomp and Dragonite. • You can use an Alpha due to how small the species is. • Can hold different items like Life Orb or Expert Belt. Weaknesses: • Can be easily threatened by the abundance of Steel-types in the meta. |

This build focuses on Glaceon just using a Life Orb and relying on Plus Moves. This build uses an Expert Belt to increase your Super-effective damage by 20%.
| Item | Effect / Location |
|---|---|
|
|
Effect: If a Pokemon holding this Berry is hit with a supereffective Fire-type move, the power of that move will be weakened. |
|
|
Effect: An item to be held by a Pokemon. It's a heat-repelling piece of ice that boosts the power of the holder's Ice-type moves. Location(s): • Purchased at Racine Construction (₽ 4980) • Reward from Side Mission 56 |
|
|
Effect: An item to be held by a Pokemon. It is a well-worn belt that slightly boosts the power of the holder's supereffective moves. Location(s): • Purchased at Racine Construction (₽ 4980) • Reward from Side Mission 117 |
The item chosen for Glaceon for this build is the Expert Belt for the 20% bnous, but you can also use the Never-Melt Ice or Life Orb. However, we recommend giving a Life Orb to another Pokemon in your party.
Alternatively, you can hold an Occa Berry for those annoying Fire-types.
Life Orb: How to Get and How to Use
| Shadow Ball | Great option against Pokemon like Gardevoir or Delphox. |
|---|---|
| Freeze-Dry | Used mostly against annoying Water-type that could resist your Ice Beam like Greninja or Gyarados. |
| Ice Beam | Your main attacking move. Mainly used for attacking offensive threats like Garchomp, Dragonite, and Salamence. |
| Calm Mind | Nice to have to increase damage and bulk, but can be swapped with other moves as needed. |
This set focuses on having Glaceon be a hybrid attacker or set up screens for allies like Garchomp or Excadrill.
| Blizzard | Can be slot-in if you want to score more points, but the wind-up time is pretty bad. |
|---|---|
| Disarming Voice | Your only Fairy-type option, but has a low base power. |
| Icy Wind | Can lower your opponents' move Cooldown. Nice but still useful |
| Protect or Dig | Your only defensive options. Requires perfect timing. |
A full 252 EVs are put into Glaceon's Special Attack and HP to make it hit as hard as possible and take a few hits. The extra 4 EVs are placed into Speed for quicker move cooldowns, but its negligible.
A Modest nature is preferred to help further increase Glaceon's Special Attack stat.
| Item: Gyaradosite | Freeze Dry + 152-182 (75.2 - 90%) Guaranteed 2HKO |
| Item: Assault Vest | Ice Beam + 150-176 (76.1 - 89.3%) Guaranteed 2HKO |
| Item: Life Orb | Heat Wave + 122-146 (87.1 - 104.2%) 25% chance to OHKO |
With the prevalence of Pokemon like Garchomp, Dragonite, Salamence, etc., you can pressure opponents to waste their switch or get points by punishing them. Glaceon is an amazing anti-meta pick for almost any team.
Use a hyper-offense team that has Pokemon that can complement Glaceon's offensive pressure.
| Defensive Lead | Special Attacker | Physical Attacker |
|---|---|---|
Skarmory

Glaceon
|
Garchomp
|
These three Pokemon are all powerful attackers and can cover for a wide variety of enemies. Switch in and out Pokemon to gain a favourable matchup while also looking to punish your opponent when you have a bad switch in.
