Hotel Z Owner
AZ is the owner and manager of Hotel Z, where the main protagonist and the members of Team MZ are staying in Lumiose City. In Pokemon XY, he was revealed to be immortal and the former king of the Kalos Region.
Partnered with Eternal Flower Floette
AZ's partner Pokemon is Eternal Flower Floette. It is a unique Floette who was made immortal because of AZ. They were estranged, but they reunited at the end of Pokemon XY.

AZ's Role in Previous Games
Appeared in Pokemon XY
AZ first appeared in Pokemon X and Y as a mysterious wanderer that your player first meets in Route 13. He reminisces about a "flower" Pokemon before leaving.
After he was captured by the main villain Lysandre, it was revealed that he created Ultimate Weapon. He was rendered immortal and grew taller after being exposed to its power.
AZ re-appears at the end of the XY's story to challenge your character during the celebration parade after becoming Champion.
Once defeated, he smiles and is reunited with his partner Pokemon, the Eternal Flower Floette, who descends from the sky.
