|---|---|
Excadrill
|
Best Moves: ・ Dig (TM 028) ・ Bulldoze (TM 078) Excadrill's dual typing of Steel and Ground makes it a perfect counter for for Canari's team, as it negates Electric attacks and resists most other attacks from her Pokemon. |
Gogoat
|
Best Moves: ・ Bulldoze (TM 078) ・ Leaf Blade Gogoat resists Electric attacks and has access to Ground moves that deal 2x damage to any of Canari's Pokemon. Its Grass moves are also a plus when going against Stunfisk. |

Canari's team, being composed entirely of Electric Pokemon, makes for an easy sweep with Ground Pokemon. You can also use Pokemon with a different type and equip them with Ground-type Moves, but having STAB Ground-type Moves would be a faster victory.
Stunfisk being part Ground-type makes it vulnerable to Grass-type Moves. A Grass-type like Gogoat will come in handy for Stunfisk in particular as it resists both Electric and Ground attacks while also having access to Grass and Ground-type Moves.
| Pokemon | How to Get |

Excadrill
|
・Catch a Drilbur in Wild Zone 8 and evolve it at Lv.31

Of all the obtainable Pokemon at this point, Excadrill is the single best choice for this promotion match as it counters all of Canari's Pokemon perfectly, even her Ampharos with various moves like Discharge, Dragon Pulse, and Power Gem.

Canari is fought during Story Mission 14: Reaching Rank E. You'll need to earn a total of 32,000 Ticket Points to get a Challenge Ticket to fight Canari in a Promotion Match.

Canari's exact location won't be revealed even after getting your hands on a Challenger's Ticket. You must first participate in the Canari Quiz Whiz Contest and win all three rounds.
