Project M is a Side Mission from Mable in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Read on for a walkthrough on how to complete Project M, how to unlock it, and its rewards!
How to Unlock Project M
Receive the Project M Mystery Gift via the Internet
Players can receive the Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y through the internet via Mystery Gift starting from November 19, 2025. This item is required to trigger the Side Mission, Project M. Note that this Side Mission will not be unlocked until after you have finished the game.
Note that trainers cannot obtain the Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y through regular playthrough and they can only have one type of each Mega Stone per save file.
Accept Mission in Lysandre Labs B3F

Once you have the Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y in your inventory, head to Lysandre Labs in the Magenta District. Use the elevator to go back to B3F and approach the screen to activate it and start the cutscene.
Project M Walkthrough
Head to Lysandre Labs B3F
Fly over to Lysandre Cafe and head inside to access the Labs. Use the elevator to get to the B3F and head back to where the screen is to reactivate it.
Activate the Locks to Catch Mewtwo
After a short cutscene, a Lv. 70 Mewtwo will appear. Mable will ask you to catch this Mewtwo.
Feel free to take multiple attempts! Even if you fail to catch it by accidentally knocking it out, you will be allowed more chances to try. Once caught, Mable will tell you why Mewtwo is in Kalos and will mark the end of the request.

Aside from the monetary reward of 10,000 Poke Dollars, you will also receive 1 EXP. Candy XL from completing this quest.
Mewtwo
The Mewtwo you capture will be Lv. 70 with a random nature and 3 random Perfect IVs. It will know the moves Psychic, Aura Sphere, Amnesia, and Psycho Cut.
