| Evolution Methods |
|---|
|
|

Introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The majority of Pokemon that can evolve by reaching the required level will no longer evolve automatically. Instead, you need to manually evolve them in the menu.
When your Pokemon's evolution conditions are met, aan arrow "↑ mark" will appear in the upper left corner of the Pokemon icon, and when you select the Pokemon, the "Evolve" option will appear, select this to Evolve.

With the removal of the Linking Cord evolution item, you now have to go back to the standard trade evolution. Certain Pokemon will not evolve if they are not holding certain items.
If a Pokemon evolves via trade, it will automatically evolve after being traded. Players can trade with friends via a Link Code, or online through Nintendo's matchmaking system. You can also check out our Trading Board to post trade requests!

Another conventional process of evolving Pokemon is by using evolutionary items. You can use these evolutionary items on certain Pokemon, regardless of level, to evolve them.
You can do this by selecting an item from your satchel and using it on the Pokemon you want to evolve.

Some Pokemon can only evolve depending on whether it is Day or Night. You can change the time in-game by resting on Benches. Doing so will immediately change the time either from Day to Night, or vice-versa, depending on when you rest on a bench.
How to Change Time To Night or Day

Some Pokemon need to reach a certain treshold in their friendship value in order to evolve. You can quickly increase this by walking around, feeding it Vitamons or Feathers, and the best method is to hang out at Cafes.
How to Change Time To Night or Day

Certain Pokemon have unique conditions to evolve not shared with other Pokemon. It can be difficult to determine the evolution conditions for some of these Pokemon, so it's best to confirm the evolution condition in advance before trying to evolve your Pokemon.

You can Mega Evolve your Pokemon by pressing R3 on your controller once your Keystone has enough charge. Remember that your Pokemon also needs to hold its corresponding Mega Stone in order to Mega Evolve!
