Boulders and Obstructions are used to block your progress in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Learn how to destroy boulders and obstructions in order to progress through your adventure.

How to Destroy Obstructions

・ Fighting-type Moves ・ Rock-type Moves ・ Ground-type Moves ・Psyshock |
 Thorny Brambles |
・ Fire-type Moves ・ Cutting moves (Aerial Ace, Leaf Blade, Slash, etc.) |
 Purple Grimes |
・ Water-type Moves ・ Some Psychic-type Moves (Confusion, Psychic) |
 Ice Boulders |
・ Fire-type Moves ・ Strong impact moves Creates a bridge upon breaking |
 Spider Webs |
・ Any attacking move
Can be crossed over upon breaking |
 Mega Crystals |
・ Any attacking move
Grants Mega Shards upon breaking |
Obstructions are something you encounter along your adventure that will block your progress and are usually solved by destroying them with certain Pokemon moves.
Below are the current known moves that will destroy these obstacles so you may progress on your adventure.
How to Destroy Stone Boulders
Stone Boulders can be destroyed by Fighting-type moves, Rock-type moves, and Ground-type moves such as Rock Smash, Rollout, and Mud Shot, respectively.
How to Destroy Thorny Brambles
Thorny Brambles can be destroyed by Fire-type moves like Flame Wheel and Heat Crash as well as cutting moves like Aerial Ace and Slash. Make sure to destroy these as items can sometimes be found inside them.
How to Destroy Purple Grimes
Purple Grimes can be washed or cleared away by the move Confusion or a Water-Type move such as Water Pulse..
How to Destroy Ice Boulders
Ice Boulders can be destroyed by Fire-type or strong impact moves such as Heat Crash and Power Up Punch. Destroying these ice boulders creates a bridge across the water.
How to Destroy Spider Webs
Spider webs can be destroyed by any of your Pokemon's attacking moves, and you can cross over them after you hit the center of the web with an attack.
How to Destroy Mega Crystals
Mega Crystals can also be destroyed using any attacking moves, and these will give you varying amounts of Mega Shards once you break them.
