A Shiny Staryu has a white-silverish body and a blue core instead of the usual orange-brown body and red core it usually has. It will also have shiny sparkles around it when you first see it.

The best spot to hunt Shiny Staryu is at Wild Zone 2 at Vert District, which can be unlocked by reaching Main Mission 5.

Take note that Staryu will only appear during the night so pass the time at a bench until night if it's still daytime for you.

How to Shiny Hunt (Fast Travel Method)

Fast travel to Wild Zone 2 and enter it.
② Check the Staryus Right
From the start, turn right to check the Staryu spawns, including the Alpha.
③ Check the Staryus Left
Continue along the path until you reach the bridge. Look to the left on the bridge to see two more Staryus.
④ Check the Staryus Left 2nd Bridge
Follow the path until the second bridge and turn left again to check another two more Staryus.
⑤ Repeat Steps 1 to 4 if no Shiny Staryus spawn.

How to Shiny Hunt (Bench Method)

Fast travel to Wild Zone 10 and enter it.

Pokemon Legends Z-A Shiny Staryu Map Image Zone 10 Head to Bench
Head to this pinned location in the map to find a few benches to use this method on.

You can get a Shiny Staryu by holding down directional button in front of a bench and repeatedly pressing the A button. This will pass the time and respawn all Pokemon except the shinies.
④ After resting a few times, check nearby if any Staryus are shiny, elsewise, repeat step 3.
