Rogue Mega Barbaracle is a Rock and Fighting-type Pokemon, which is weak to Fighting, Ground, Steel, Water, Grass, Psychic, and Fairy-type attacks. So, there's going to be a lot of options for Pokemon counters for this one.

However, its dual-type combination resists Normal, Poison, Rock, Bug, Fire, and Dark-type attacks.

Rogue Mega Pokemon

Gardevoir

Gardevoir ImageGardevoir
Pokemon Psychic Type Icon / Pokemon Fairy Type Icon
Moves:
Psychic
Dazzling Gleam
Calm Mind
Draining Kiss
Where to Get:
・Evolve from Ralts evolution line, which is found at Vert Sector 4. An Alpha Ralts can also be found at the same location during the Night.
Summary:
Gardevoir's Psychic and Fairy-type attacks works well, both offensively and defensively, against Rouge Mega Barbaracle's Fighting-type.

Gardevoir's entire moveset works well against Fighting-types like Mega Barbaracle. You can use its combination of Psychic and Fairy-type attacks simultaneously.

The only downside is that you have to tank Mega Barbaracle's Rock-type attacks. Although they are only normal damage against Gardevoir.

How to Get Gardevoirite Mega Stone

Recommended Move Rotation

Calm Mind → Psychic → Dazzling Gleam → Draining Kiss → Psychic

Rogue Mega Barbaracle has high base Defense and Sp. Def., so we can start off with Calm Mind to increase Gardevoir's Sp. Atk. Then, we can do a combination of Psychic and Dazzling Gleam.

You can also switch the ordering of Dazzling Gleam with Draining Kiss, if you need to recover some HP, and make sure you use Magical Leaf as the last move due to it having a shorter cooldown than the rest.

Moves Guide

Victreebel

Victreebel ImageVictreebel
Pokemon Grass Type Icon / Pokemon Poison Type Icon
Moves:
Bullet Seed
Magical Leaf
Giga Drain
Growth
Where to Get:
・Evolve from Bellsprout evoltuion line, which is found at Wild Zone 5.
Summary:
Victreebel's Grass-type attacks are super effective against Rock types, and its Poison-type resists Fighting-type attacks. This lessens your worry about dodging most of Rogue Mega Barbaracle's attacks.

Victreebel is the more natural option to counter Rogue Mega Barbaracle, as you can catch it early in the game, as well as obtain its Mega Stone during the early Main Missions.

The main reason for choosing Victreebel against Rogue Mega Barbaracle is to use its Grass-type attacks for offense and Poison-type attacks for defense.

Rogue Mega Victreebel Strategy Guide

Recommended Move Rotation

Growth → Magical Leaf → Bullet Seed → Giga Drain → Giga Magical Leaf

The main move rotation for Victreebel is to use Growth to increase Attack and Sp. Atk. first. Naturally, Rogue Mega Barbaracle has high Defense and Sp. Def., so we can counter with much higher stats.

Next, you can choose between Magical Leaf and Bullet Seed since they have the same cooldown. Giga Drain can be used in between to recover a huge amount of HP.

Moves Guide

Hawlucha

Hawlucha ImageHawlucha
Pokemon Fighting Type Icon / Pokemon Flying Type Icon
Moves:
Flying Press
Brick Break
Bounce
Feather Dance
Where to Get:
・Found at the rooftop of Restaurant Le Yeah at the Rouge District, which is east of the Quasartico Inc.
・An Alpha Hawlucha can be found on the rooftop of Passage de la Felicite at the Bleu District, southwest of the Bleu Plaza.
Summary:
Hawlucha is more of an alternative counter to Rogue Mega Barbaracle, as its Fighting-type attack patterns are more of an acquired taste. Nevertheless, Fighting-type attacks are still super effective against Rock-types.

Hawlucha's Fighting-type attacks and high base Speed are its two golden tickets in countering Rogue Mega Barbaracle. Although it may struggle when it gets hit by Rock-type attacks.

Hawluchanite

Rogue Mega Hawlucha Strategy Guide

Recommended Move Rotation

Featherdance → Flying Press → Bounce → Brick Break → Flying Press

With Rogue Mega Barbaracle only using Physical attacks, you can lower its Attack by using Featherdance. Then, follow it up with Flying Press, which has a very high cooldown, and Brick Break or Bounce.

All of Hawlucha's attacks might have long cooldowns, but it gets decreased due to its very high base Speed.

Rogue Mega Barbaracle Battle Tips

Dodge or Roll Away From Power-Up Punch and Rock Slide

Rogue Mega Barbaracle's Attacks

Power-Up Punch

Rock Slide

Rogue Mega Barbaracle's Power-Up Punch is a physical attack, so it will get close to you first before using it. You can dodge this very easily, as you will see it happen even before it does.

For Rock Slide, you need to know who Rogue Mega Barbaracle is targeting first. Once you do, the rocks will fall directly above the target. It's better to roll away from this one rather than just running away.

Interrupt With Attacks When Charging Up

The Rogue Mega Barbaracle charge mode is when it goes to the center of the battlefield and charges up with a golden aura. Afterward, it will launch a series of bullet punches towards its target.

You can actually interrupt this by landing super effective attacks and will immobilize him for a second. Interrupting it while charging decreases the attack power of the bullet punches.

Run Away from Waterfall Attack

Rogue Mega Barbaracle's waterfall attack is quite simple to dodge, you can just simply run away of its course because you can see it coming from a mile away.

Steer Clear of the Binacle

When it reaches a certain amount of HP, Rogue Mega Barbaracle summons a group of Binacle around to help itself. The Binacles usually spawn when Barbaracle gets enraged, and while it's doing its Charge Up phase.

You get Bannettite, which helps evolve your Barbaracle? (This issue with copy/pasting and not editing the names properly has happened in several of your Rogue Mega guides, just as a heads up. I've mostly seen it crop up in the Rewards sections.)
