Catch Pokemon during the day and compete in Z-A Royale at night in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Learn about the day and night differences in the game in this guide.
List of Contents

You can change the time in-game by resting on Benches. Doing so will immediately change the time either from Day to Night, or Night to Day, depending on when you rest on a bench.
While benches are found across different spots in Lumiose City, on can always be found beside Pokemon Centers.
Additionally, resting on benches causes nearby Pokemon, making it also a good way to farm for Shiny Pokemon spawns!
| Notice | Time Left |
|---|---|
| The sun is getting low... | 4 minutes before night |
| The sun will be setting soon! | 2 minutes before night |
| Night is falling over the city! | 20 seconds before night |
| Dawn is approaching | 2 minutes before day |
| It's nearly daybreak! | 1 minute before day |
| A new day is dawning! | 10 seconds before day |
Alternatively, you can wait for time to pass naturally. Each time the time shifts, a pop-up will appear notifying you how much time remains before the time of day changes.
A full Day-Night cycle lasts 24 minutes, with 16 minutes of day, and 8 minutes of night. This means you'll have less time hunting Pokemon during the night, and only a short time to participate in trainer battles within Battle Zones before dawn arrives for the next day.

Various Pokemon will roam during the day, and you can catch any of them before the day ends! You can find them anywhere from alleyways and streets to even rooftops!

At night, certain areas become Battle Zones for the Z-A Royale where trainers battle each other to increase their ranks. Each evening, you can spend time battling other trainers in these zones to earn Ticket Points, which are required to challenge the trainer for your next Promotion Match.
