Each time you visit a cafe, your Pokemon's friendship increases, so visit a cafe multiple times with your Pokemon of choice to quickly increase that Pokemon's friendship levels.
The Cafe you visit and the drink you order all add Friendship to your active Pokemon, making repeated Cafe Visits the best way to quickly increase your Pokemon's friendship level.

You can also give your Pokemon items to raise their friendship. This is especially efficient if you're also giving your Pokemon items such as Exp. Candy that give them experience points or Vitamins that increase their stats. Additionally, giving your Pokemon berries to heal them or cure inflicted status effects can also increase their friendship.

Players can buy these berries from the stall in Magenta Sector 6. There are 6 berries that can do this, each lowers a specific EV stat but increases friendship: Pomeg (HP) Kelpsy (Atk) Qualot (Def) Hondew (Sp. Atk) Grepa (Sp. Def) Tamato (Spd). These berries cost P200 each.

Finally, you can increase your Pokemon's friendship levels by battling alongside them and letting them gain experience points. As your Pokemon's level increases, their bond with you grows stronger as well!

One way to raise your Pokemon's friendship levels faster is by giving them a Soothe Bell. This item amplifies the amount of friendship gained, and you can gain it as a reward from finishing Side Mission 036: Some Friendly Competition.

To check your Pokemon's Friendship Level towards you, simply talk to the Female NPC outside Cafe Pokemon-Amie. You can find her outside sitting across from her Roselia, and once you approach her, she will say that she can tell if a Pokemon gets along with its Trainer.
After talking to her, you can select a Pokemon from your Team or Boxes to have her examine the Pokemon's Friendship Level towards you.
| Friendship Level | Evolve With High Friendship? |
|---|---|
| It's incredibly friendly toward you! Being with you must make it very happy! | ✅ |
| You really do like this Pokémon, and always keep it by your side, don't you | ✅ |
| It looks to me like you and your Pokémon could still become an even more wonderful team! | ✅ |
| You two are fairly friendly, but I can tell there's still plenty of room for you to grow closer! | ✅ |
| Well, it's grown somewhat friendly toward you.. Yes, that's what I'd call this. | ❌ |
| Hmmm.. I think your relationship may still take some time to build up. | ❌ |
| It almost looks like you've been letting it get KO'd in battles nonstop, but that can't be right. Right? | ❌ |
| What's this? Are you a disciplinarian? This poor Pokémon isn't the least bit friendly toward you! | ❌ |
These are the rankings given by the Friendship Checker. While you do not need to reach maximum Friendship to evolve certain Pokemon, their Friendship levels must still be at a high enough level to do so.

The Friendship Checker NPC will only return to Cafe Pokemon-Amie after completing Troublesome Patrons.
Completing Side Mission 25 also reopens the Cafe for business, allowing you to spend time with your Pokemon here!

Some Pokemon can only evolve once they have high Friendship levels, and a few Pokemon, like Riolu, only evolve with high Friendship in the daytime. Additionally, Eevee has three different evolutions that require high friendship. Therefore, increase these Pokemon's friendship levels as fast as you can to make them stronger!
