┗ Mega Evolution makes a comeback!
Lumiose City will be the main location for the story of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, a major city found in the Kalos Region of Generation 6. Read on to learn more about Lumiose City, the generation it was from, and what Lumiose City would look like in Pokemon Legends: Z-A!
List of Contents
According to the official tweet from Nintendo of America, Pokemon Legends Z-A is set entirely within Lumiose City alone. This is a complete departure from how Trainers in the main games would usually hop from city to city to challenge different gym leaders!
Although mostly speculation, the story being within the borders of Lumiose City may mean that the game will feature a larger and denser Lumiose City compared to what we have previously explored in Pokemon X and Y. We might see further district-like subdivisions inside the city where most the story will take place.
Lumiose City was featured in the Pokemon Legends Z-A Trailer with the city's Urban Development Plan at the forefront of the story.
Pikachu is shown roaming a futuristic, 3D wireframe visual representation of the city's many avenues and buildings.
Lumiose City is located in the Kalos Region and is considered the central hub and meeting area in the region.
Kalos Region in Legends Z-A: Future or Past?
The Prism Tower is the city's most notable landmark which was prominently featured in the trailer, and is also home to the city's Electric-type Gym with Clemont as the Gym Leader. The structure is heavily inspired by the Eiffel Tower as the entire region is based on France.
Lumiose City first appeared in Pokemon X and Y, which is the Sixth Generation of Pokemon games.
This generation saw the debut of Fairy-type Pokemon as well as the Mega Evolution battle mechanic, which was also featured in the trailer.
Mega Evolutions Return in Legends Z-A
Considering Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be released after Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the game will be considered as part of Generation 9. The same was done for Pokemon Legends: Arceus as it is considered to be part of Generation 8.
