Currently, the only way to obtain a Rank Protection Card is by progressing through the Battle Pass Season 15. Players can recieve one (1) free Rank Protection Card when they reach level 4. They can recieve another one when they reach level 56 but only if they purchase the Premium Battle Pass.
Players only need to obtain the Rank Protection Card for it to work. It will automatically be used when a player loses a ranked match.
A Rank Protection Card will not be consumed if the player is dected to be idling during the match. This is probably to prevent players from abusing the item.
Losing a game consumes one Rank Protection Card. Whether players lost the game or surrendered, if they have a Rank Protection Card, it will be consumed after the match and will no longer appear in their Item Box. The rule of thumb is one card, one lose.
Rank Protection Card is an item that prevents a player's ⟡ (diamond) from decreasing when they lose a ranked match.
The Rank Protection Card is only valid for the current season. Once the season end, it will be converted into Aeos Tickets.
