Surging Strikes Effect

Surging Strikes In-Game.jpg

Has the user dash in the designated direction and strike with a flowing motion, dealing damage to opposing Pokemon it hits. This move can be used an additional two times, and the third time it is used, any hits are always critical hits, and it throws opposing Pokemon. The user's next basic attack after using this move becomes a boosted attack, and if the boosted attack hits, it restores the user's HP.

How to Use Surging Strikes

Attack After Each Charge

Since Urshifu gains a Boosted Attack each time it uses a charge of Surging Strikes and hitting targets with Boosted Attacks reduces Urshifu's move cooldowns, attacking after each charge can drastically reduce your move cooldowns. This allows you to prolong your combos.

Utilize the HP Recovery Effect

On top of reducing Urshifu's move cooldowns after hitting a target with a Boosted Attack, Urshifu will also recover HP. Take advantage of this effect to prolong Urshifu's life during fights. The longer Urshifu stays alive, the more damage you can deal to your opponents.

Chase or Escape Opponents

Despite having an extremely short range, you can still use Surging Strikes to chase or escape from opponents. However, the only way to pull this off is by using each charge in quick succession.

Utilize the Third Charge

Use the third charge of Surging Strikes wisely since it will throw targets and has a longer range. It's best to use the charge against targets you know you can defeat.

Traverse Walls

You can also move pass walls using the third charge. Remember that only the third charge has a long enough range to allow Urshifu to move through walls. Do not use the first two charges to traverse walls since their range is insufficient.
