Always aim Verdant Anger at the center of fights, hitting as many enemies as possible and maximizing its damage.
Just like Solar Beam, use Verdant Anger's long range and high damage to steal boss Pokemon from the enemy. It also requires good timing and aiming to maximize the damage.
Overgrow triggers when you're at low HP, increasing your damage. As much as possible, wait until Overgrow triggers before casting Verdant Anger to increase its damage. Furthermore, equip Buddy Barrier to gain a shield after using Verdant Anger, increasing your chances of survival since you're at low HP.
There will be an image of a leaf above Venusaur signaling that Overgrow has triggered.
