Held Items in Pokemon Legends: Z-A are useful for boosting EVs, boosting certain types of moves, healing your team as well as evolving and Mega Evolving Pokemon. Learn about all the Held Items found in the game, how to get them and their different uses.

Best Held Items

Item	Reasoning
Mega Stones	The game encourages players to use Mega Evolutions when battling Rogue Mega Pokemon. On top of this, Mega Evolved Pokemon gain increased power and sometimes different typings for more advantages.
Held Training Items	These held training items are great for boosting a Pokemon's EV when levelling them up. What's more is that the tradeoff of the reduction in Speed is only temporary until the item is unequipped.
Lum Berry	The Lum Berry can help heal all types of Status Effects without the trainer needing to open the bag and select the applicable Medicine or Berry.
Leftovers	This item is helpful in sustaining Pokemon and becomes an excellent choice for Pokemon with high HP. Trainers can sometimes stall the battle and dodge attacks to heal their Pokemon without using another item or healing move.
King's Rock	Although it is not guaranteed, making the opposite Pokemon flinch can give an opening for your Pokemon to attack more and catch the opponent off guard.

How to Use Held Items

Select It from the Satchel and Give to a Pokemon

Select Give to a Pokemon
To use a held item, simply open the X Menu and select the Satchel. Then, select the Held Item and choose Give to Pokemon. To remove a held item simply select the Pokemon then select the option, Change held item option. The game will give you the option to swap it with a different item or remove it.

Note that not all held items are compatible with any Pokemon for them to take effect. For example, Mega Stones will only work with their respective Pokemon even though they can be held by any Pokemon.

Another thing of note is that some held items have negative side effects. For example, held training items used to boost EVs lower the Speed of the Pokemon that's holding it.
