Stats: HP / Atk / Def / SpAtk / SpDef / Speed
| Nature | Stat Changes |
|---|---|
| Modest | ↑ SpAtk, ↓ Attack |
| Timid | ↑ Speed, ↓ Attack |
Since Gengar is a Fast Special Attacker, it's best Nature is either Modest or Timid to boost its Special Attack or Speed further, while reducing its Attack stat.
| Nature | Stat Changes |
|---|---|
| Mild | ↑ SpAtk, ↓ Defense |
| Rash | ↑ Speed, ↓ SpDef |
You can also give Gengar either Mild or Rash nature, if you will mainly use it for Story Content.
Keep in mind that giving Gengar any of the above two natures will increase the damage it receives, making it less ideal for Competitive Play and harder post-game content.

If your Gengar has a different Nature than the ones we recommend above, you can use a Mint to change its Nature.
