Umbreon evolves from Eevee when it reaches a high friendship level at night. Additionally, this will only happen if your Eevee does not know a Fairy-type Move beforehand.

How to Increase Eevee's Friendship Fast

Equip Soothe Bell and Go to Cafes

It is recommended to have your Eevee hold a Soothe Bell in order for its friendship growth to increase by an extra 50% every time it levels up. You can obtain this after completing the side mission, "Some Friendly Competition"

You can increase friendship by going to cafes, using Vitamins or Feathers, and walking around with Eevee.

Due to Umbreon having very high Defensive stats, its best natures are either Impish or Careful to boost its Defense or Special Defense further.

Umbreon also has a better Attack stat compared to its Special Attack, so choosing one of the above natures allows Umbreon to still deal some damage with its Physical Moves.

You can also give Umbreon either Relaxed or Sassy nature, allowing you to increase your Defense or Special Defense at the cost of reduced Speed.
