The reveal trailer for Pokemon Legends: Z-A debuted during the Pokemon Day 2024 livestream. Check the details within the reveal trailer here!
The reveal trailer for Pokemon Legends: Z-A debuted during the Pokemon Day 2024 livestream on the 27th of February 2024, which featured more news and announcements for other and future Pokemon games.

The trailer revealed that Pokémon Legends: Z-A takes place entirely within Lumiose City, located in the Kalos region. This was the first Pokemon title to focus exclusively on a single large city rather than a full regional journey across multiple towns.
The trailer showed construction zones, parks, and plazas being redeveloped, foreshadowing the city expansion system later confirmed for the full game.
As stated by an official tweet from Nintendo of America, Pokemon Legends Z-A will be set entirely within Lumiose City.

The trailer initially featured around 30 Pokemon, each of which has since been confirmed to be in the final game. While the original 6th generation of games had around 450 Pokemon in its Pokedex, the last Legends game, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, had around 240 Pokemon in its Pokedex.
While the full Pokedex count has yet to be officially revealed, Pokemon Legends: Z-A features a diverse mix of returning and regional species across Lumiose City’s various Wild Zones.

The trailer ended with the Mega Evolution symbol glowing above Lumiose City, hinting at its return. Later showcases confirmed Mega Evolution as a central gameplay feature, introducing new forms like Mega Dragonite.
New Mega Evolution Pokemon in Legends Z-A

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set to release on October 16, 2025, launching worldwide simultaneously on all Nintendo Switch systems.
