Metal Coat is an item used to trigger evolutions for specific Pokemon and boost Metal-type moves in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Learn more on how to get and use it.

Players can receive Metal Coat as a reward for completing Side Mission 101: Steadfast as Steel and Side Mission 114: A Feather From Skarmory.
To unlock these missions, you have to progress through Main Mission 35 and complete Main Mission 38, respectively.

Players can purchase Metal Coat for ₽4980 at Racine Construction alongside other battle held items.
The sellers will be inside the Racine Construction building, where you fought Canari in Main Mission 14: Reaching Rank E. However, they will only appear after you finished the game .

Players can receive a Metal Coat as one of the rewards from the Infinite Z-A Royale.
Give an Onix or Scyther the Metal Coat to hold and then trade them to another player. The evolution will occur automatically once the trade is completed, evolving them into Steelix and Scizor respectively.

Pokemon who are given Metal Coat to hold will have the damage of their Steel-type moves increased.
