Venusaur Best Nature and Moveset for Story

Bold or Calm

Nature Stat Changes
Bold Defense, Attack
Calm SpDef, Attack

Due to Venusaur having very high Defensive stats, its best natures are either Bold or Calm to boost its Defense or Special Defense further.

Venusaur also has a better Special Attack stat compared to its Attack, so choosing one of the above natures allows Venusaur to still deal some damage with its Special Moves.

Alternative Natures

Nature Stat Changes
Relaxed Defense, Speed
Sassy SpDef, Speed

You can also give Venusaur either Relaxed or Sassy nature, allowing you to increase your Defense or Special Defense at the cost of reduced Speed.

Keep in mind that giving Venusaur any of the above two natures will increase the cooldown of moves, putting you at a disadvantage against faster Pokemon.

Use Mints to Change Natures

Mint Usage

If your Venusaur has a different Nature than the ones we recommend above, you can use a Mint to change its Nature.
Mints Locations and How to Change Nature

Best Venusaur Moveset for the Story

Move Type Cooldown
Toxic Pokemon Poison Type Icon 10
Sludge Bomb Pokemon Poison Type Icon 7
Energy Ball Pokemon Grass Type Icon 8
Sludge Wave Pokemon Poison Type Icon 8

We recommend the moves Giga Drain, Synthesis, Sludge Wave, and Magical Leaf when using Venusaur during the main story.
