With the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A comes two editions, the Switch 1 edition and the Switch 2 edition. Find out about the differences between them with frame rates, resolutions and which one is recommended.
List of Contents
| Aspect | Switch 1 | Switch 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Frame Rate | Max 60 FPS | Up to 120 FPS |
| Loading Time | Slower by Comparison | Two Times Faster than Switch 1 |
| Legends: Z-A Game Price (Nintendo Online Store) | $59.99 | $69.99 |
Players can rest assured that all of the game's content is exactly the same. However, the features shown above indicate that the Switch 2 version loads faster and has a higher frame rate. In exchange for this quality, the Switch 2 version of Pokemon Legends: Z-A is more expensive by $10. The price of the Switch 2 Upgrade aligns with this, priced at $9.99.
Shown on the left is the Switch 2 edition and on the right the Switch 1 version. As shown, players will have a more seamless time playing when it comes to the Switch 2 version as it has faster loading times and has a higher frame rate.
Despite the big difference in frame rate and loading times, the game content is exactly the same for both editions, which means you can purchase the Switch 1 Edition without having to worry about missing out on certain features.
This allows casual players and players who do not own a Switch 2 to simply purchase a Switch 1 version, with the option to purchase the Switch 2 upgrade later on if they decide to buy a Switch 2, since the total price of the Switch 1 Edition plus the Upgrade Pack would be the same as purchasing the Switch 2 version.
