Mega Steelix Best Nature and Moveset for Story

Impish or Careful

Nature Stat Changes
Impish Defense, SpAtk
Careful SpDef, SpAtk

Due to Steelix having very high Defensive stats, its best natures are either Impish or Careful to boost its Defense or Special Defense further.

Steelix also has a better Attack stat compared to its Special Attack, so choosing one of the above natures allows Steelix to still deal some damage with its Physical Moves.

Alternative Natures

Nature Stat Changes
Relaxed Defense, Speed
Sassy SpDef, Speed

You can also give Steelix either Relaxed or Sassy nature, allowing you to increase your Defense or Special Defense at the cost of reduced Speed.

Keep in mind that giving Steelix any of the above two natures will increase the cooldown of moves, putting you at a disadvantage against faster Pokemon.

Use Mints to Change Natures

Mint Usage

If your Steelix has a different Nature than the ones we recommend above, you can use a Mint to change its Nature.
Mints Locations and How to Change Nature

Best Steelix Moveset for the Story

Move Type Cooldown
Stone Edge Pokemon Rock Type Icon 10
Bulldoze Pokemon Ground Type Icon 6
Screech Pokemon Normal Type Icon 10
Iron Tail Pokemon Steel Type Icon 10

We recommend the moves Iron Tail, Screech, Bulldoze, and Stone Edge when using Steelix during the main story.
