You can obtain a Bulbasaur by completing the Side Mission, "A Call from Mable". This is the only way to get this Pokemon before unlocking their corresponding Wild Zone.

You can only choose one between Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

Bulbasaur Best Nature for Story

Bold or Calm

Nature Stat Changes
Bold ↑ Defense, ↓ Attack
Calm ↑ SpDef, ↓ Attack

Due to Bulbasaur having very high Defensive stats, its best natures are either Bold or Calm to boost its Defense or Special Defense further.

Bulbasaur also has a better Special Attack stat compared to its Attack, so choosing one of the above natures allows Bulbasaur to still deal some damage with its Special Moves.

You can also give Bulbasaur either Relaxed or Sassy nature, allowing you to increase your Defense or Special Defense at the cost of reduced Speed.

Keep in mind that giving Bulbasaur any of the above two natures will increase the cooldown of moves, putting you at a disadvantage against faster Pokemon.
